Cetinje - Montenegro

Hello dear drinkers,
When I travel to a place, city, country, I like to ask about everything important to them. Preparing for the trip to Montenegro, I knew which towns we would pass through, where to rest, what to see, so I asked about Cetinje as well.
Cetinje is the capital of Montenegro. They still call it that, even though the capital is Podgorica.

Under the mountain Lovćen, there is a city that has an exceptional cultural and historical role in Montenegro. What I learned in school in geography is that Cetinje is the city with the highest annual rainfall in the former Yugoslavia, and one of the three cities in Europe. This is exactly what happened to us in Cetinje. I managed to take about ten photos and then the sky started to darken. It was raining so much that I had the impression that someone was pouring water from a large bowl on my head. So wet, we stopped at a cafe to wait for the rain to stop.
Here, one detail you must know: You cannot go to Cetinje without an umbrella.
King Nikola Petrović is the most famous king of Montenegro. His court is now a museum in Cetinje. During his reign, the first Girls' Institute, the first hotel, hospital and Dom Vleda were opened in Cetinje when independence was declared, and therefore many embassies were located next to each other. With such buildings, Cetinje becomes an extremely beautiful city.

The founder of the city is Ivan Crnojević, who also has a monument erected in Cetinje. He was the ruler of Žabljak, so after the defeat he built his capital on a karst field next to the Cetina river. The word Cetinje itself is derived from the word cetine, which means forest. I already said that the city is located at the foot of the Lovćen mountain, so it was rich in forest.
The third famous historical figure from Cetinje is the famous bishop Petar II Petrović Njegoš. Njegoš's mausoleum is located on top of Lovćen mountain.
Njegoš was a famous bishop, a ruler, but also a man who fought to unite all Serbs. He was also known for his gift for writing, and his most famous work is "Mountain Wreath."
We could not go to his mausoleum in Lovcen. First we were interrupted by the Kia, and then we had a little time to go to the top of the mountain and visit the museum.
Museums, churches, monasteries, schools, hospitals are something that is characteristic of the small town of Cetinje. Everything in one small space, gives the beauty of this city.
The first printing house founded by the then Crnojevic rulers was also established in Cetinje. Later, Wegoš opened his own printing house. But Cetinje is not only known for its printing houses and magnificent architecture. There are three academies in Cetinje: the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Cinematic Arts and the Faculty of Musical Arts, then the Theological School, the Teachers' School, the Njegoš School and the Girls' Institute.
After the Second World War, the famous "Obod" factory in Cetinje, which produced white goods, was opened in Cetinje, followed by the "Narodna knjiga" publishing company and the "Bojana" shoe factory.
All in all, for me, the most important information about Cetinje is that there are 8 museums in the city itself.
As I already mentioned, the rain hindered our further exploration of the city, but if we succeed, after returning from the sea, we will stop in Cetinje again, which I recommend to all of you who intend to travel to Montenegro.
