Traveling Through Dwarka: A Journey of Faith and the Sea

Greetings of the day,

When I decided to go to Dwarka, it was not just a journey, but a desire rising somewhere within my mind for a long time. There was a curiosity to see with my own eyes the Dwarka which was mentioned in books, stories and stories heard since childhood. This land of Gujarat, the city situated on the sea shore, has a different peace in itself.

The first thing that is felt on reaching Dwarka is a different seriousness and peace spread in the atmosphere. The light smell of salt in the air, the vast sea and the devotees walking in the streets of the city – everything together slows down the mind. It's as if time comes to a standstill here.

Visiting the Dwarkadhish temple was the most important part of this trip for me. There was movement around the temple since morning. People had come from far and wide – some with family, some alone, some in silence and some humming hymns. The peak of the temple becomes visible from a distance, and as we approach closer, the mind automatically begins to calm down.

The grandeur of the temple is not just in its height or structure, but in the feeling that one feels while standing there. The stone walls, the high spire, the fluttering flag and the sound of the bells echoing within – all this together creates an experience that is difficult to fully capture in words. Standing there, I felt that faith is not a thing for show, but a deep inner feeling.

After darshan, sat in the temple premises for some time. The people sitting around, their faces, the hope and peace reflected in their eyes – seeing all this was an experience in itself. No one was in a hurry, no one was restless. Like everything was in its right place.

Another special thing about Dwarka is the sea here. When I came out of the temple and went towards the sea, the sound of the waves completely engulfed my mind. Standing on the shore and seeing the water spread far away gives a different feeling. Waves come, hit the rocks and then go back – as if a scene of life itself was playing out.

I spent a lot of time sitting near the sea. No hurry, no plan. Just sitting and feeling the breeze, looking at the sunlight and listening to the waves. Such moments often get lost in the hustle and bustle of cities, but in Dwarka they are found automatically.

Dwarka bridge was also a special part of this journey. While walking on the bridge, the water spread on both sides, the road going far and the open sky above – this scene is going to remain in the memory for a long time. Standing here one realizes how small man is and how vast nature is. Still, there is a balance somewhere between these two, which touches the viewer deeply.

Dwarka becomes even more beautiful in the evening. The sun slowly starts setting, the colors of the sky change and the lights around the temple add depth to the atmosphere. At that time, standing there, the mind automatically becomes calm. Neither do I feel like asking for anything, nor do I feel like saying anything – just being seems to be enough.

The most special thing about this entire journey was that after coming here, my mind became lighter. As if everyday complications, worries and noises have been left behind. Dwarka is not just a place to see, it is a place to feel. Coming here, we understand that sometimes traveling is not just for changing places, but for meeting ourselves.

There was a strange peace in my mind while returning from Dwarka. It felt as if something incomplete had been completed, or perhaps something had been found that was looking for but did not know the name of. This journey became for me not just photos or memories, but an experience – an experience that sits peacefully somewhere inside.

If life ever seems too fast, places like Dwarka remind us that it's important to pause. Breathing, seeing and feeling—this is perhaps the real journey.
