Parque Lumphini en Bangkok [ESP/ENG]

Hola a todos! un lugar increíble que nos encantó en Bangkok (Tailandia) fue el Parque Lumphini, y es que es un parque grande con muchas cosas para ver o entretenerse, pues les cuento que es el lugar perfecto para ir a sentarse y relajarse, disfrutar de la vista o la naturaleza, o también para ir a correr o caminar, incluso los niños se divierten mucho allí, pues creanme que Olivia disfrutó mucho del parque infantil todos los días que estuvimos en Bangkok, así que es un buen lugar para ir en familia pero ya lo verán ustedes abajo en este post.

Hi everyone! One incredible place we absolutely loved in Bangkok (Thailand) was Lumphini Park. It’s a huge park with plenty to see and do—it’s the perfect spot to sit back and relax, enjoy the view or nature, or go for a run or a walk. Even the kids have a blast there, Believe me, Olivia really enjoyed the playground every day we were in Bangkok, so it’s a great place to visit as a family—but you’ll see for yourselves further down in this post.

Parque Lumphini

La primera vez que fuímos al Parque Lumphini nos sorprendió ver que es un parque rodeado de rascacielos y muy limpio, y como siempre nos ibamos caminando hasta allí, llegabamos muy acalorados y con mucha sed, pero eso no era un problema pues una vez entrabamos había una pequeña tienda con muchas bebidas, helados y hasta snacks, eso sí, solo aceptan efectivo y nada de billetes grandes por lo que es mejor ir preparados pues creanme que con el calor de Tailandia van a necesitar mucha agua.

The first time we went to Lumphini Park, we were surprised to see that it’s a park surrounded by skyscrapers and very clean. Since we always walked there, we’d arrive feeling very hot and thirsty, but that wasn’t a problem because once we got inside, there was a small shop with plenty of drinks, ice cream, and even snacks. that said, they only accept cash and no large bills, so it’s best to come prepared—because believe me, with the heat in Thailand, you’re going to need plenty of water.

Sigues caminando, y te das cuenta que es un parque lleno de árboles y hermosas plantas, y que se siente mucha paz y tranquilidad allí, mi parte favorita era el lago, que por cierto en ese momento tenía una decoración de la serie One Piece (no soy fan de esa serie pero si la había escuchado y se veía muy genial), siempre nos quedabamos un rato allí sentados en una banca para lograr ver un varano de agua y hacerle fotos o simplemente para refrescarnos y descansar y aunque queríamos ir a pasear en bote, la verdad es que la cola siempre era grande y con el calor de Tailandia no estabamos dispuestos a esperar pero mucha gente si, ellos si iban preparados con sus paraguas para evitar el sol, nosotros solo admirabamos la decoración de la serie.

You keep walking, and you realize it’s a park full of trees and beautiful plants, and that it feels very peaceful and serene there. My favorite part was the lake, which, by the way, was decorated with themes from the One Piece series at the time (I’m not a fan of that series, but I’d heard of it and it looked really cool), We’d always stay there for a while, sitting on a bench to try to spot a water monitor and take pictures of it, or just to cool off and rest. And even though we wanted to go for a boat ride, the truth is that the line was always long, and with the heat in Thailand, we weren’t willing to wait—but a lot of people were. They came prepared with their umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun, while we just admired the series’ decorations.

Habías más estatuas y decoraciones pero algunas estaban llenas de gente y no pude fotografiarlas, aún así abajo ven la del varano de agua que es espectacular, luego de relajarnos y tomar algo para refrescarnos nos ibamos al parque infantil que la verdad es bastante grande y con muchas atracciones, Olivia no sabía donde montarse, así que como durabamos mucho tiempo allí, siempre disfrutaba de varias de ellas, y mi esposo y yo estabamos felices de verla disfrutar, algunas veces ella sudaba mucho pero es que en Tailandia hace mucho calor, lo bueno es que comprabamos suficiente agua para estar hidratados pues allí es muy necesario.

There were more statues and decorations, but some were crowded with people and I couldn’t take pictures of them. Still, below you can see the water monitor lizard statue, which is spectacular. After relaxing and having a drink to cool off, we headed to the playground, which is actually quite large and has lots of attractions. Olivia didn’t know which one to try, so since we spent a long time there, she always got to enjoy several of them, and my husband and I were happy to see her having fun. Sometimes she’d get really sweaty, but that’s just because it’s so hot in Thailand. The good thing is that we made sure to bring enough water to stay hydrated, since that’s really necessary there.

Una vez nos quedamos allí hasta que oscureció, y la verdad es que había mucha gente, algunos relajados y otros caminando o trotando, también estaban unas chicas haciendo una especie de bailoteraía que se veía muy interesante y hasta a mí como buena latina me daban ganas de bailar, pero ya era hora de volver al hotel, aún así debo decir que siempre disfrutamos mucho allí, bien sea de la vista, de la naturaleza, del parque infantil y es que es un parque muy grande perfecto para visitar en familia y que recomiendo mucho conocer si van a Bangkok pues estoy segura que les va a encantar tanto como a nosotros.

Once we stayed there until it got dark, and honestly, there were a lot of people—some just relaxing, others walking or jogging. There were also some girls doing a kind of dance routine that looked really interesting; even I, as a true Latina, felt like dancing, but it was time to head back to the hotel. Even so, I have to say we always have a great time there—whether it’s the view, the nature, or the playground. It’s a huge park, perfect for a family visit, and I highly recommend checking it out if you’re going to Bangkok, because I’m sure you’ll love it just as much as we do.
