Hello again friends and visitors of the @worldmappin community!
Because it is my day off, come with me as we travel up north and visit the Igorot Stone Kingdom in Baguio City.

As soon as we arrived, we will see many people at the entrance. The place was busy, and visitors kept coming in. I did not expect to see such a large crowd.

Inside we will see grand stone structures. What makes this really special is that this was built by hand and inspired by the famous rice terraces of the Cordilleras. We will also see beautiful stone stairways and pathways that make the place look like a giant stone village.

Here, we will also find statues that showcase Igorot culture. The word Igorot refers to the indigenous peoples of the mountainous Cordillera Region in Northern Philippines. It generally means people of the mountains. The statues help visitors learn more about their history and way of life.

As we continue our walk, we will reach scenic viewpoints that are perfect for picture-taking. From here, we can enjoy the beautiful views and capture some memorable photos. Let's do not mind the lots of people coming in.

Short stop to take comemmorative photos as well.
Here, we will also cultural carvings and symbols. These displays show the local heritage, traditions, and craftsmanship of the Igorot. The details carved are impressive.

One of the most interesting parts of the visit was watching young Igorot people perform their traditional dance. Even though I know it is part of insigenous Filipino culture, I was still surprised to see their traditional clothing with my own eyes. Seeing it in person felt very different from just seeing it in photos or videos.

Before ending our tour, we will pass by the famous pink horse photo spot. We decided not to take a picture with the horse. Aside from the extra fee, the horse already looked tired, so we chose to simply admire it from a distance.

Overall, the Igorot Stone Kingdom was an interesting place to visit. It is not only a tourist attraction but also a place where visitors can learn more about the culture, traditions, and heritage of the people of the Cordilleras.
All photos are mine unless stated otherwise.

The Igorot are one of the well-known tribes in the Philippines that have successfully preserved their culture and traditions. I would love to try wearing their traditional clothing.
You are right! And you definitely should try it for experience. I skipped that part because it's a hassle for me that time to try their traditional clothing π
