I attended the biodiversity event (Eng/Esp)

I had the opportunity to attend COP 16, the Sixteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, an event of international importance held in the city of Cali. Under the slogan "Peace with nature," innovative proposals on diversity and environmental preservation were presented, and the organization set up a stage with live music and presented various cultural activities.

The exhibitions of electric vehicles were among the most visited, as were those powered by natural gas for public transport. Ambassadors from various countries attended, and the city was decked out for the festivities, with the participation of children and young schoolchildren. The organizations in charge took advantage of the occasion to paint several murals and manhole covers with the event logo.

The organization was very good. I had the opportunity to attend on the day it was held near the government headquarters. There were several stands showcasing entrepreneurship, all focused on viable alternatives for caring for the environment. There were also exhibitions of the culture that distinguishes various regions of Colombia. Among them, the one that surprised me the most was the Amazon, because they showed crafts made from vines.

I really liked this event and enjoyed the displays of biodiversity. I can say that this activity invited us to become aware of the importance of caring for the environment, not only for ourselves but also so that our descendants can enjoy nature.

Tuve la oportunidad de asistir al Cop 16, la Décimo Sexta Conferencia de las Partes del Convenio sobre la Diversidad Biológica, evento de relevancia internacional realizado en la ciudad de Cali. Bajo el eslogan: "Paz con la naturaleza", se presentaron innovadoras propuestas sobre diversidad y preservación del medio ambiente, además la organización dispuso de una tarima con música en vivo y presentaron diversas actividades culturales.

Las exposiciones de vehículos eléctricos resultó de las más visitadas y también los que funcionan con gas natural destinados al transporte público. Asistieron embajadores de diversos países, la ciudad se vistió de fiesta y más con la participación de niños y jóvenes escolares. Los organismos encargados aprovecharon la ocasión para pintar varios murales y también las tapas del alcantarillas con el logo del evento.

La organización fue muy buena, tuve la oportunidad de asistir el día que se sitúo cerca de la sede de la gobernación, acá tenían varios stands que hacían gala de emprendimientos, todos enfocados en alternativas viables para cuidar el ambiente. También se presentaron exposiciones de la cultura que distingue a varias regiones de Colombia, entre ellas, la que más me sorprendió fue la del Amazonas porque mostraron artesanía realizada a partir de tejidos de bejucos.

Me gustó mucho este evento y disfruté de las muestras de biodiversidad, puedo decir que esta actividad nos invitó a tomar conciencia sobre la importancia de cuidar el medio ambiente, no solamente para nosotros sino para que nuestros descendientes puedan disfrutar de la naturaleza.
