Today I’m going to take you along on an interesting visit I made to the Cali Zoo, which is located quite high up on a mountain. This time I went with my family, and we had a wonderful time. The place is quite spacious, with plenty of green areas, large trees, and beautiful flowers.

The Cali River runs through the zoo, and there are bridges you can cross to get from one side to the other. The zoo has a butterfly garden and an aquarium; photography is prohibited in these areas because the animals need silence and tranquility. There’s also a section dedicated to birds.

I saw three otters that were being monitored in a secluded area of the zoo. We also had tour guides at the churuatas, where they told us about our ancestors, Andean culture, and the Pacifica people. This was very interesting.

There’s also a coffee-themed area that references Pereira—a spot worth checking out. There’s also a small plaza where you can rest for a while. I have to admit that walking around this place is tiring, especially since it’s not flat; there are lots of ups and downs.

I noticed there are many ancient artifacts; in short, you learn a lot at this zoo. I saw several concrete sculptures of various animals—iguanas and snakes—which caught the attention of tourists and visitors in general.

I really enjoyed this outing. This zoo always has activities and offers special family packages. I loved taking in the scenery and walking around this spacious area; my grandson had a great time running all over the place. Seeing him happy makes me happy too.
