There are few points like this, where you can peak over the edge and get a view down into the slot canyon and waterworks below.
Just out of Stowe town, on the road up into the mountains, streams tumble down through the forest, bringing countless waterfalls to the landscape. All you need to find them is a little time, and an adventurous spirit. I took off to find one of these today, called Bingham Falls. It is a picturesque mountain stream, that enters a rocky slot canyon, before falling into a clear pool, perfect for swimming on a hot summer day.
You can access this waterfall from either side of the river, however the shortest route is directly off an easy parking lot off the side of Route 108. The roundtrip there and back is less than a mile, however there are some steep, slippery sections. People have gotten into trouble here before, but mostly those playing around the edges of the cliffs, or trying to jump into the river itself. I was just here for photos and a hike today, so no worries!
After spending some time in the beautiful forest surrounding the falls, I venture back towards town, along the same river. Here I found one of Vermont's famous historic wooden covered bridges. The Brookdale Bridge was lit up by the late morning sun, so I got my drone out and flew it over for some unique angles. It was a beautiful spring day here in Stowe, Vermont.

These are the first cascades visible above Bingham Falls.
Just downstream from Bingham Falls, partially hidden by this huge boulder.
The trail gets steep here. I was pleased to see that there was no more ice, which can make it quite treacherous.

I sent my drone way up high to capture a typical Vermont countryside farm scene, with springtime trees, ready to bud out again as the temps warm up.
A long exposure captures the movement of this mountain stream. This was just above Bingham Falls, which is accessible after a short, but steep hike.
