Hello to all who love traveling. Today I will write to you about my visit to the island of Gozo. I wrote earlier that I spent three months in Malta and of course Gozo is an unmissable destination.I arrived on the island by ferry. The journey took 45 minutes. And the ferries run every half hour, 24 hours a day.I have never seen a bluer sea before. When I arrived, a red bus was waiting for us to take us to the main and only city on the island. There was a hotel complex and a beautiful beach in the harbor, but I wanted to see this historic city of Victoria, or Rabbit, as the islanders called it.When we arrived, I headed towards the main square and from there down a steep street to the Citadel fortress. Of course, it's the landmark of the city and that's what everyone wants to see first. The citadel used to be a city within a city surrounded by high walls, and today it is mostly all historical sights The Citadel is free to enter, and if you want additional content, you will pay five euros at the entrance. The fortress is built in the middle of the island, so it offers a view of the entire island, the city, the meadow, the sea.Let me not forget that the fortress and other buildings were built of limestone, so they are all the same color.

Near the entrance to the fortress is the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It is famous for the fact that when you enter it, you walk on the tombstones of fallen knights. A little further away is the Basilica of St. George.

I left the fortress and walked through the streets of the city. First I checked into our room because I still had a lot to see, so I had to stay for two days. There is a bus stop 5 minutes from the room. Lines go in all directions and reach any place. The island is small, you can walk around it, but it is not interesting to walk on asphalt, and besides, the day is very short.
I arrived at Victoria Square, everything was lively, full of people and there were a lot of tourists. There were cafes and restaurants everywhere so you can eat their wonderful, real local food. At first glance it seems like a modern city, but when I walk the streets I realize that it is turning into an old part of the city, narrow paved streets, in front of every house there are beautiful flowers.

In the evening I headed towards the Sanctuary and Basilica of Ta' Pinu. It was built between two villages in an open area. It is famous for the miracles and voices that were heard here.I particularly liked the semicircular approach, adorned with mosaics depicting biblical scenes. There are many statues that look magnificent, especially at dusk—the time when I visited.

I returned to the city and to my room with thick and high walls. In the morning I returned to Malta full of wonderful impressions.

Wonderful photos and place!!
Thank you so much
I just know I so much love travelling despite the fact that I rarely do. Sighs.
And ohh myy, mention of Basilica of st. George reminded me of the one closest to my region where I went to as a child, for a pilgrimage along with my big sister.
I've had a longing to go yet again and I really hope I do. Fingers crossed 🤞.
Appealing pictures you have there! 😍
