In Sibiu, a city where even houses have eyes - Romania

Hello to all who love traveling.
The trip to Romania happened unplanned. Namely, my daughter, who had lectures in Alba Julia, called me and said that she traveled for two days because getting there is terrible, there is no transportation.I immediately got in the car and off on the road to Romania. It took me a couple of hours to reach my destination. She was returning in two days and I decided to at least see that area because I had never been there. In the two days I had free, I made a plan of what to see.My first destination was the city of Sibiu.I arrived late afternoon. Found accommodation near the square.At the reception, they briefly explained to me what interesting things I could see.I hurried to climb the Council Tower to photograph the city from the tower before dark.




The old part of the city is divided into the Upper and Lower parts of the city and are connected by stairs, as you will see in the photos. Since I was staying near the square, my tour starts from there. All important events take place on that square itself.






All the most important buildings are surrounded by a large square and houses with eyes. These eyes are actually attic windows, but when you look at them, you really get the impression that they are watching you wherever you go (especially at night). Pay attention to those windows haha. I really see this for the first time



The Brukenthal National Museum is also located in the very center. Right next to the Brukenthal Palace is the Jesuit Church, the Church of the Holy Trinity, one of the most important churches in the city.On the Big Square there is also the Baroque Blue Building, the only Art Nouveau building in Sibiu, and a large fountain. And the Council Tower was also built here.







Another famous city attraction - the Bridge of Lies - is located on the Small Square. There are various legends and I will write you the shortest one. That if you tell a lie on the bridge it will collapse.



I went down the stairs to the lower part of town to see the Church of the Holy Trinity. They say that they built it according to the model of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. But I also saw that church, so I can honestly say that this cannot be compared to Hagia Sophia




I visited all the sights of this city, walked the streets. I went back to the room, packed my things and left. On the way, I stopped at a cafe as recommended. Had lunch, ate my favorite slatis and headed for Alba Iulia.
