Happy New Year, everyone!❤️
I ended my 2025 with a last trip to Rishikesh. I have been to Rishikesh so many times now, and honestly, it still feels new every single time. It’s that perfect mix of fun and faith. One moment you’re hopping cafés, the next you’re sitting quietly by the Ganga, watching life slow down.
This time, though, I explored Rishikesh properly. The streets, the cafés, the ghats, the local markets, Ganga aarti, ashrams, street food, everything. Amidst all the chaos and calm, I finally made my way to Beatles Ashram, originally called Chaurasi Kutia.

I had heard about it so many times, seen pictures, and read stories before.
For Indian nationals, the entry ticket costs 200 rupees, and for foreigners it costs around 1200. This is where the Beatles stayed and meditated back in 1968, to learn Transcendental Meditation from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, at the peak of their fame. Just imagine, four people from a completely different world, finding silence and inspiration in this little corner of Rishikesh.
As soon as you enter, the noise disappears. No honks, no crowd chatter. Just broken pathways, tall trees, and an eerie kind of calm. The ashram feels abandoned, but in a beautiful way. Walls covered in colourful graffiti, meditation domes everywhere.
___
I walked slowly, no rush at all. Each dome felt like it had stories to tell. You could almost imagine people sitting cross-legged, eyes closed, trying to find answers. Or maybe just trying to breathe better.
There’s something about this place that makes you pause. You don’t want to talk much. You just walk, observe, and feel. The sunlight filtering through the trees, the quiet echoes inside the halls, the art on the walls, everything feels raw and real.
What I loved the most was how imperfect it is now. Cracked walls, faded paint, nature growing freely. Walking out of the ashram, I felt lighter. Like something inside me had slowed down.
Beatles Ashram isn’t just about the Beatles. It’s about stillness. About stepping away from the noise, even if just for an hour. And in a city like Rishikesh, that already teaches you how to slow down, this place fits in perfectly.
If you’re planning to visit Rishikesh, don’t skip it. Go with time in hand. And make sure to visit early, it closes by 4pm
I'll share my other adventures in my upcoming blogs soon
