After the Neer Garh Waterfall visit, as I’ve mentioned in my previous blog, we made our way to Lakshman Jhula, and that’s where the day slowly started winding down.

We reached there around 3 to 4 pm, when the sun was still strong but leaning towards sunset. The tiredness from the trek was there, but it felt nice. We sat by the ghat for a long time, doing absolutely nothing. The Ganga flowed quietly, people kept coming and going, some sat with their feet in the water, and everything felt calm.

We ate some regional street food nearby, simple snacks. As the sun began to set, the lights around the river slowly came on, and that’s when the newly built Janaki Setu really stood out. The bridge looked surreal, especially with the light show. The changing colors reflecting on the water felt unreal, almost dreamlike. We took some pictures there.

We stayed back for the famous Ganga Aarti, which is a holy practice where priests worship the Ganga River. After the aarti, we didn’t rush back. We went and sat by the ghat again, quietly, letting the moment linger a little longer. No urgency, no checklist. Just sitting there, knowing this was exactly how the Rishikesh trip needed to end. Simple, peaceful, and complete.
