The Secret Garden
Good evening, Hivers!
Last week I took you with me to discover the Diocesan Museum of Imola, but its treasures aren't just found within the walls. In fact, the complex also features a beautiful secret garden, called the Garden of the Bishop's Palace.
Its location is truly intriguing, right in the heart of the city and a green paradise that contrasts with the marble and concrete of the surrounding buildings.

La scorsa settimana vi ho portato con me a scoprire il Museo Diocesano di Imola, ma i suoi tesori non si trovano solamente all’interno delle mura. Infatti, nel complesso è presente anche un bellissimo giardino segreto, chiamato Giardino del Palazzo Vescovile.
La sua posizione è davvero interessante, perché si trova nel pieno centro della città ed è un paradiso verde in contrasto con il marmo e il cemento degli edifici circostanti.

Crossing the threshold of the Bishop's Palace garden means leaving the bustle of the city center behind and immersing yourself in an atmosphere suspended in time.
This space, enclosed within the ancient walls, is a perfect example of an Italian garden, where the geometry of box hedges meets the freshness of centuries-old trees.
The garden can be visited year-round, although in my opinion the most beautiful season is definitely spring.
Varcare la soglia del giardino del Palazzo Vescovile significa lasciarsi alle spalle il brusio del centro per immergersi in un’atmosfera sospesa nel tempo.
Questo spazio, racchiuso tra le antiche mura, è un perfetto esempio di giardino all'italiana, dove la geometria delle siepi di bosso incontra la freschezza di alberi secolari.
È possibile visitare il giardino tutto l’anno, anche se la stagione più bella a mio avviso è sicuramente la primavera.

Entrance is free, but if you want to actively contribute to the garden's maintenance, you can make a donation or adopt a tree.
This last option is truly interesting and involves purchasing one of the hundreds of trees in the garden. A tag with your name will be planted next to the tree you choose. The gardeners will ensure the maintenance of the tree with water and pruning.
If it's a fruit tree, you can even receive the fruit from the adopted tree!
L’ingresso è gratuito, ma se si vuole contribuire attivamente al mantenimento del giardino, è possibile fare una donazione o adottare un albero.
Quest’ultima opzione è davvero interessante e consiste nell’acquistare uno delle centinaia di esemplari di alberi presenti nel giardino. Accanto all’albero scelto, sarà piantato un cartellino con il proprio nome. I giardinieri garantiscono la manutenzione dell’esemplare con acqua e potature.
Se si tratta di un albero da frutto, sarà anche possibile ricevere i frutti dell’albero adottato!

There are so many reasons to visit the Secret Garden. I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to take a moment to contemplate, surrounded by roses, manicured paths, and lush greenery.
The municipality of Imola also often organizes cultural events, concerts, or art exhibitions, making this urban botanical space even more interesting.

I motivi per visitare il Giardino Segreto sono davvero numerosi. Consiglierei quest’esperienza a chiunque voglia fare una sosta contemplativa, circondati da rose, vialetti curati e fascino verde.
Spesso il comune di Imola organizza anche degli eventi culturali, concerti o esposizioni artistiche, rendendo ancora più interessante questo spazio botanico cittadino.
