Antes de que se acabe uno de los meses más fríos del año, les comparto algunas fotografías que tomé en un viaje express y no planeado con amigos para ver caer nieve. Si leiste mi post anterior todo esto no es lo que estaba planeado y aún así el plan salió genial, vamos a recapitular.

Before one of the coldest months of the year comes to an end, I'd like to share some photos I took on a quick, unplanned trip with friends to see the snow fall. If you read my previous post, you'll know that none of this was planned, but even so, the plan turned out great. Let's recap.

This was one of my favorite photos.

4 amigos, un coche y muchas ganas de ver la nieve caer como niños de 5 años. Salió un poco mal al ir a Segovia ya que era nuestro destino principal, pero lo disfrutamos ya luego y muchísimo. Ahora, el día aún no terminaba y decidimos subir un poco más de altitud, nos fuimos a Navacerrada, un puerto para esquiar ubicado en la Sierra de Guadarrama.

Four friends, a car, and a strong desire to see the snow fall like five-year-olds. Things didn't go quite as planned when we headed to Segovia, which was our main destination, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely nonetheless. Now, with the day not yet over, we decided to climb a little higher and headed to Navacerrada, a ski resort located in the Sierra de Guadarrama.

Es el lugar donde todos se encuentran por primera vez con la nieve, si eres de Madrid lo sabrás, había muchísima gente pero nosotros no entramos al pueblo como tal, solo queríamos ver nieve y nos quedamos justo allí en el puerto, como pueden ver las condiciones climáticas estaban un poco fuertes y habían mucha seguridad lo cual era bueno.

It's the place where everyone encounters snow for the first time. If you're from Madrid, you'll know what I mean. There were lots of people there, but we didn't go into the village itself. We just wanted to see the snow, so we stayed right there at the pass. As you can see, the weather conditions were a bit harsh, and there was a lot of security, which was good.

Honestamente soy muy poco fan de estas condiciones climáticas, pero de vez en cuando disfrutar de esta temporada del año no esta mal, como pueden ver la capa de nieve era bastante gorda y se hacia complicado caminar, nos tomamos algunas fotos, hicimos videos y lanzaron bolas de nieve.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of these weather conditions, but every now and then, enjoying this season of the year isn't so bad. As you can see, the snow cover was quite thick and it was difficult to walk, but we took some photos, made videos, and threw snowballs.

Tomarse fotografías entre capas blancas, copos y amigos son recuerdos muy lindos que me gustó tener y quiero conservar, había mucho frío, yo suelo ponerme muy roja con climas extremos pero aún así la adversidad me hace disfrutar y aprender que a veces lo incomodo no es tan malo.

Taking pictures among white layers, snowflakes, and friends are very nice memories that I liked to have and want to keep. It was very cold, and I usually get very red in extreme weather, but even so, adversity makes me enjoy myself and learn that sometimes discomfort isn't so bad.

Lo mejor de todo el viaje -a parte de las fotos y videos divertidos- fue entrar a la única cafetería que había y pedir chocolate caliente con churros, estaba más bueno que nunca, no se si era el frío que me nublaba el gusto o ciertamente el chocolate valía la pena, simplemente me lo disfruté. El precio estaba muy bien, eran 6 euros todo, que para ser el único lugar pudiese estar peor.

Quizás la próxima visita sea con un poco más de tiempo, así recorro el pueblo con mucha calma que por lo que investigué es pequeño pero muy bonito, pude conocer también que forma parte del Camino de Santiago así que eso lo hace más interesante para mí.

The best part of the trip—aside from the fun photos and videos—was going into the only café there was and ordering hot chocolate with churros. It was better than ever. I don't know if it was the cold that clouded my taste buds or if the chocolate was really that good, but I simply enjoyed it. The price was very reasonable, only €6 for everything, which, considering it was the only place there, could have been worse.

Perhaps next time I visit, I'll have a little more time so I can explore the town at a leisurely pace. From what I've researched, it's small but very pretty. I also learned that it's part of the Camino de Santiago, which makes it even more interesting to me.
