Siempre he pensado que si me llevas a una montaña, con muchos animales y paisajes extraordinarios, para mi será el mejor plan del mundo, por eso seguimos con los post de Asturias? pues sí, tengo tantas cosas lindas que compartirles, y en este caso lo mejor de ese viaje: Los lagos de Covadonga.

Well, yes, I have so many beautiful things to share with you, and in this case, the best part of that trip: The lakes of Covadonga.

En tan solo 3 días que estuvimos en Asturias, hicimos tantos planes, cosa que me encanta, pero ya luego cuando vuelves a la realidad olvidas que tienes una vida de oficina y no la vida hippie que deseas 😂. En fin, esta ruta que les mostraré fue bastante corta, nos mostraron 2 opciones por si nos arriesgábamos a más pero por el tiempo y las salidas de los buses decidimos la ruta corta. Como pueden ver eran 3 kilómetros que corresponden a aproximadamente 1 hora.

In just three days in Asturias, we made so many plans, which I love, but then when you return to reality, you forget that you have an office life and not the hippie life you want. Anyway, this route I'm going to show you was quite short. They showed us two options in case we wanted to take a chance on more, but due to the weather and the bus departures, we decided on the short route. As you can see, it was 3 kilometers, which is about an hour.

Como pueden ver, no íbamos solos. Tomamos un bus desde Cangas de Onis/Arriondas y nos subió hasta la montaña, fueron como una hora y media de trayecto, tuvimos que pasar varios pueblitos donde el bus hacía parada y todas esas personas venían con nosotros exclusivamente para la excursión. Genial porque te sentías en grupo y no había pérdida sobre el camino que había que recorrer.

As you can see, we weren't alone. We took a bus from Cangas de Onís/Arriondas and it took us up the mountain. The journey took about an hour and a half, and we had to pass through several small towns where the bus stopped and all those people came with us exclusively for the excursion. It was great because you felt like you were part of a group and there was no confusion about the route we had to take.

Estaba muy bien señalizado, no había manera de perderse
It was very well signposted, there was no way to get lost.

Comenzamos subiendo una cantidad de escalones que obviamente olvidé, pero creo llegar a contar unos 344, de allí ya mi mente no dió más, era contar o controlar el ardor de mis femorales.

We started by climbing a number of steps that I obviously forgot, but I think I counted about 344. From there, my mind couldn't take it anymore; it was either counting or controlling the burning in my thighs.

Lo bueno es que tienen a mitad de camino un cafetín y puedes sentarte y mirar muchos perros pastores, caballos y vacas, incluso los animales se te acercaban para que les hicieras mimos, se notaba muchísimo que estaban ya acostumbrados a los visitantes.

The good thing is that there is a small café halfway along the route where you can sit and watch lots of sheepdogs, horses, and cows. The animals even came up to you so you could pet them; it was very clear that they were used to visitors.

También había una máquina de monedas para recuerdos y como ya tenemos algunas otras de lugares que hemos visitado, lo hicimos tradición y sacamos una con algún logo que nos gustara de este viaje, decidimos el de la foto.

There was also a coin machine for souvenirs, and since we already have some from other places we've visited, we made it a tradition and got one with a logo we liked from this trip. We decided on the one in the photo.

Una de mis cosas favoritas fue la Mina de Buferrera, era una especie de mina rodeada de depósitos morrénicos y su curiosa morfología constituida por columnas de caliza. La existencia del manganeso en estos Lagos fue lo que hizo que se convirtiera en una gran explotación minera llamándole entonces Buferrera, hasta que en 1932 su actividad culminó quedando este como un lugar turístico.

One of my favorite things was the Buferrera Mine, a kind of mine surrounded by morainic deposits and with a curious morphology consisting of limestone columns. The presence of manganese in these lakes led to the establishment of a large mining operation, which was named Buferrera, until 1932, when it ceased operations and became a tourist attraction.

Había una pequeña valla con toda la información sobre la historia y otros metales que también extrajeron como el Hierro.

There was a small fence with all the information about the history and other metals that were also mined, such as iron.

Aquí es cuando pasamos al primer lago, El lago Ercina, caminamos a penas unos pocos metros y ya se puede observar.

This is where we come to the first lake, Lake Ercina. We walk just a few meters and we can already see it.

Luego a través de un camino muy empinado que conecta ambos llegabas al mirador, se puede visualizar muchísimo mejor en panoramica los dos lagos, había demasiada niebla ya que llovió pero aún así la vista era increíble. Al terminar de bajar ya estábamos en el Lago Enol.

Then, via a very steep path connecting the two, you reached the viewpoint, where you could see both lakes much better in panoramic view. There was too much fog because it had rained, but even so, the view was incredible. When we finished descending, we were already at Lake Enol.

Y ya acá se puede observar el Lago Enol. la verdad son muy similares, lo único curioso es que este tenía una casa muy campestre la cual no pude evitar tomarle algunas fotografías.

And here you can see Lake Enol. They are actually very similar, but the only curious thing is that this one had a very rustic house, which I couldn't resist taking some pictures of.

Y allí mismo se ve el camino para volver al inicio, es una especie de círculo la verdad. Ya cuando llegamos al aparcamiento de Buferrera nos tocó descansar y esperar el bus. Fue super rápido, tranquilo y muy lindo, tardamos más de 1 hora ya que tomamos fotografías, admiramos los paisajes y acariciamos los animales, pero es una ruta que cualquiera puede hacer, desde niños hasta adultos. Feliz de poder conectar cada vez que podemos con la naturaleza y disfrutar de los hermosos paisajes que nos regala la vida y el universo. Gracias por leer, nos vemos en el próximo post.

And right there you can see the path back to the start; it's kind of a circle, really. When we got to the Buferrera parking lot, it was time to rest and wait for the bus. It was super fast, peaceful, and very nice. It took us over an hour because we took pictures, admired the scenery, and petted the animals, but it's a route that anyone can do, from children to adults.
