Porto, Portugal — Part 3 : where we met the ocean

Hello, travel lovers 🌍✈️

If you missed the beginning of our story —

part one is here: [a journey we felt with our hearts] 🤍
part two is here: [where our hearts remembered the sea] 🤍

This day didn’t just feel special — it truly became a special one for us.
February 14 — Valentine’s Day and also my husband’s birthday 🎂

We got on a bus and went to the ocean — to a place we had been dreaming about for so long.
And almost right away we were greeted by the Farol de Leca Faro lighthouse — like something from a postcard. It didn’t even feel real at first.

There was a strong wind — the kind that messes up your hair, touches your face, and makes you laugh for no reason.
But at the same time, it was warm. And that made everything feel even more alive.

This was our little dream that had been waiting for four years — to be by the water again. To hear the waves. To feel that air.

We walked along the shore, took photos of each other, captured little moments 📸
And at some point I caught myself thinking… I haven’t seen my husband like this in a long time.
So genuinely happy.
He was smiling from ear to ear — and there was so much life in that moment that I just kept it inside my heart 🤍

There’s one photo where we’re sitting together, looking somewhere very seriously — like something important is happening.
But in reality, the camera was on a timer, and there was a seagull flying over it, and we were just hoping it wouldn’t ruin the shot 😄

Along the rocks, we noticed these small green plants growing right out of the stone — shaped by the wind, a little rough at the edges, but still alive and strong.
Somehow, they felt very similar to this place… and maybe even to us.

We were catching waves, catching each other’s glances, catching the feeling itself.
And that smell… salty, fresh, a little cold — it instantly brings you back to a place that once felt like home.

Our hometown is Mariupol, by the Azov Sea 🌊
And I think if you were born near water, you will always be drawn back to it — at least somewhere deep inside.

At some point, everything became very calm.
Like something inside finally fell into place.

This wasn’t just a day by the ocean.
It became something truly special for us.
About us. About memory.
And about how, even after time passes, you can still feel at home again 🤍

And now all we want is to come back here one day 🌊✨

🤍 Final thoughts on our journey

This trip became something much more than just travel for us.
Somewhere between narrow streets, the sound of the ocean, and those quiet, unexpected moments… we realized that we left a piece of our hearts in Porto.

And maybe, in return, we found something we truly needed.

Portugal is not just about beautiful views.
It’s about a feeling. About people. About an atmosphere where it’s easy to simply be yourself.

We truly recommend everyone to “taste” this country at least once — to experience its culture, to see its raw and imperfect yet incredibly beautiful architecture, and to just observe the people.

Sometimes places like this remind you what it feels like to be alive.

And somehow… we already know —
we will come back 🤍🌊✨
