Celebrating Father's Day in a Large Town/Celebrando el día del padre en un gran pueblo (Eng/Esp)

First of all, I want to take a moment to offer a prayer for our brothers and sisters in Venezuela. In these difficult days, following the powerful earthquake that has struck the country, I ask God to grant them strength, hope, and protection, and to be especially with all the affected families.

Now, I’d like to tell you that on Father’s Day—which this year in Colombia was celebrated on June 14 due to the presidential elections scheduled for the 21st—I was blessed to share a very special day with my family.

On this occasion, we visited the beautiful town of Amagá, in the department of Antioquia—a town with a rich history. Known as the “Land of the Mines,” Amagá was for many years one of Colombia’s main centers for coal mining, an industry that drove the region’s development and deeply shaped the identity of its residents. It also retains a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere steeped in Paisa tradition.

There, we enjoyed a delicious lunch to celebrate my father, strolled through the streets, took some photos, and shared a nice cup of coffee. Later, we went to a shopping mall, where we had the chance to buy him some clothes and a pair of sneakers. Seeing the happiness on his face was, without a doubt, the best gift for me.

Every moment I share with my father is a treasure that I cherish deeply. I thank God for allowing us to experience these moments as a family, create new memories, and continue to enjoy the company of those we love most. In the end, it’s those experiences that fill our hearts and last forever.

Antes que nada, quiero tomarme un momento para elevar una oración por nuestros hermanos de Venezuela. En estos días difíciles, tras el fuerte terremoto que ha golpeado al país, pido a Dios que les conceda fortaleza, esperanza y protección, y que acompañe especialmente a todas las familias afectadas.

Ahora sí, quiero contarles que el Día del Padre, que este año en Colombia se celebró el pasado 14 de junio debido a las elecciones presidenciales programadas para el 21, tuve la bendición de compartir una jornada muy especial con mi familia.

En esta ocasión visitamos el hermoso municipio de Amagá, en el departamento de Antioquia, un pueblo con una gran riqueza histórica. Conocido como la "Tierra de las Minas", Amagá fue durante muchos años uno de los principales centros de explotación de carbón en Colombia, actividad que impulsó el desarrollo de la región y marcó profundamente la identidad de sus habitantes. Además, conserva un ambiente tranquilo, acogedor y lleno de tradición paisa.

Allí disfrutamos de un delicioso almuerzo para celebrar a mi padre, recorrimos sus calles, tomamos algunas fotografías y compartimos una agradable taza de café. Más tarde fuimos a un centro comercial, donde tuvimos la oportunidad de comprarle ropa y unos tenis. Ver la felicidad en su rostro fue, sin duda, el mejor regalo para mí.

Cada instante compartido con mi padre es un tesoro que valoro profundamente. Le agradezco a Dios por permitirnos vivir estos momentos en familia, crear nuevos recuerdos y seguir disfrutando de la compañía de quienes más amamos. Al final, son esas experiencias las que llenan el corazón y permanecen para siempre.
