Greetings to everyone in the Worldmappin community! Today I'm joining you to share a new post dedicated to exploring, rediscovering, and doing something different this weekend. This time it's about my visit to San Félix with my mother, who hadn't been to Ciudad Guayana in a few years. Ever since I visited downtown San Félix that time, she hasn't forgotten the experience and enjoys going there to stroll, shop, and enjoy its streets... Although I'm not a huge fan because I honestly think there are too many people at the market, so it's not something I particularly love, haha. However, let's continue.

San Félix is a fairly large area in Bolívar state, and its center is quite popular for its many shops, street vendors, food stalls, and affordable prices. Because of this, a large part of the population goes there to do their personal shopping. That's how my mom and I decided to go there to buy some food to cook at home. To get there, you just need to take a pickup truck that says San Felix, Casa de la Mujer (Women's House). This is if you're coming from Alta Vista, which is where we were. Something funny happened: my mom is quite the chatterbox, and while we were on our way to the market, she met a woman who was also going there and suggested a great place to buy fish. I was a little hesitant, but I decided to go along with it and proceed with caution. The woman was very kind and took us to an area where boats leave for Guyana and the cliffs of Fajardo, Monagas.

We were looking for fish because it was the dish we were going to prepare at home. However, the fishermen had already left, so we looked for a new place, and that's when we had our greatest adventure. We were recommended Dorado, a fish that looked like a catfish, but I wasn't sure, so she ended up buying it anyway. When we got home, my stepfather and husband confirmed that it was indeed a catfish. I had never eaten that before, and honestly, I wouldn't eat it again, but it's a story worth telling and laughing about. Anyway, my mom and I finished exploring the San Félix market, bought a few more things for the house, and went through Plaza Bolívar in San Félix, visiting spots like the one with the colorful umbrellas and scarves, and Plaza Miranda. It was quite a long day with the heat, but despite that, we ended up having a good time with this adventure of discovering something new in San Félix and trying a different food. That's all for now. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my post. I hope you enjoyed it. Have a great start to the week!
