walking in a group

Hi friends, I don't remember if I've made any posts here for a few months now. I joined a group of walkers in the area. Through social media, this group of people passionate about not-too-demanding walks was formed, and I have to say it was a very interesting experience because walking in company is much nicer than walking alone.

In today's post I share a little about the walk we did on the Euganean Hills, a few weeks ago, which I must say was more difficult from the point of view of the weather because it was quite cold, and probably this also did not encourage me to walk, but it was an interesting trip because we started from Baone, this place which is located between vineyards and olive groves and then we arrived at the top of this 280 metre hill from which you can certainly admire a beautiful panorama.

the climb was quite short but intense. In fact it was a regenerating walk, then when you are in company I must say that time passes much more quickly, between one chat and another you cover much more ground.

However, when you get to the top the view is very interesting because from here you can also see Este Arquà Petrarca and even in the distance you can see the Berici Hills, I must say that when you are up here you remember how simple it is to feel free in the middle of nature.

However, if you want to know a little about the history of this mountain, the guide who supported us explained to me that it was practically born more than 30 million years ago during a volcanic activity and there are many trachyte and rhyolite quarries, unfortunately on this mountain there was a beautiful castle that was mentioned even around the Numidian period but which was completely destroyed in 1300 and certainly it is clear why it was built here.

Here there are also many caves, let's say cavities that were formed naturally, which were used by brigands or bandits to hide but also by many hermits to live far from people in the middle of nature.
I hope the photos I shared were interesting, thank you for reading. See you next time.

The best thing about hiking is the views of the landscapes we find at the end of the trail. Nature never ceases to amaze us.
