Very special nativity scenes in Italy

Every year, it is a tradition to go and see some very special nativity scenes that are found in the Vicenza Prealps, in the Campodalbero area in the province of Vicenza. They are very special because they are located along a 10 km long Christmas trail where different nativity scenes are set up between the woods and fountains. They therefore create a beautiful path that integrates perfectly with the surrounding nature.

Some are truly beautiful and unique, and can be visited from the beginning of December until the end of January. Naturally, the route is suitable for people who are used to walking because even if it is a very slow tour, there is a difference in altitude in the various routes of about 500 meters.

Along the way I more or less encountered around 120 nativity scenes of all kinds, from the more characteristic padded ones to those of the Fountains or those leaning against the walls of the houses, each one was unique and each one was very beautiful to see.

Following this route is very simple, let's say it's really impossible to get lost because there are several blue arrows that show you where to go, and the strong point as I was saying is precisely this integration of nature and local craftsmanship because the nativity scenes are often built with wood, stone and moss materials, that is, materials that are found here in the area.

The itinerary is free and open to everyone. I preferred to visit it during the week because there are fewer people and you can visit calmly and peacefully, because otherwise the weekends are really chaotic and you find a place to leave the car. However, unfortunately, if you come during the week you won't find the refreshment points with typical products that are offered by the locals.
