I don't know if I've already told you, but besides being a super passionate about reading as you can see from my YouTube channel, I'm actually also very passionate about art and so when I have the chance I always try to take advantage of my available time to visit as many museums as possible, I have to say that one of my favorites is undoubtedly the National Art Gallery of Bologna, a place that I absolutely recommend.

Sometimes many Italians take art for granted and the fortune of being born in a country that is very rich in works of art, but fortunately there are many foreign tourists who come to Italy to visit these works, I would suggest the National Art Gallery of Bologna because it has an extraordinary collection of Bolognese and Emilian paintings from the 14th to the 19th century.
The art gallery is located in Via delle Belle Arti 56 inside a former Jesuit convent and was initially created as a warehouse for the Academy of Fine Arts. But then it opened to the public in 1885 with very few rooms at the beginning, until continuous restorations and reorganizations that led to the exhibition it has today.

I must say that it is always very relaxing to come to these places. I mean, in my opinion, doctors should prescribe that you spend hours inside museums every now and then, precisely because it helps you relax a lot and escape from the chaos that surrounds you.
Here there are several works by very important artists including Raphael, Ludovico Caracci, Guercino and Vitale da Bologna, and it always has a certain effect to find yourself face to face with these works that in some cases you have only seen in school books, and then what I like about this museum is that it is not super crowded and it is not super chaotic like other museums here you can appreciate art very calmly.

I'll leave you some information. If you want to visit this museum, it is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 19:00 and the full ticket is €8, while on the first Sunday of the month the entrance is free. I also entered for free. Precisely because I am a teacher and therefore I have a special permit to enter for free, guides and guided tours are available inside the museum upon reservation and above all the museum can also be visited by people with reduced mobility.
