The most famous gallery in Italy

Hello friends, today I would like to continue talking to you about my trip to Turin, where I discovered many new things and many new places, one of these was undoubtedly the Subalpina gallery, probably one of the most famous and covered galleries in Turin inspired by the famous galleries found in Paris.

This gallery is located between Piazza Castello and Piazza Carlo Alberto, therefore right in the central part of Turin, it was designed in 1873 by the architect Pietro Carrera and was built about a year specifically for a space conceived, ehm, for the leisure and shopping of the city's bourgeoisie. In fact, you can notice as soon as you enter that it is a very chic place. Unfortunately, during the Second World War it was severely damaged but fortunately it was rebuilt and restored as was Fedele's project.

it is very tall as a gallery and it is the first thing I noticed, currently inside there are still cafes and restaurants and also a bookshop but I had also noticed a cinema, and I discovered that in 2025 this place was bought by Alessandro Barbero the famous social communicator and professor, a very successful historian in short and who in fact is from Turin, who wanted to buy it a little to relaunch this place so that it could become a bit of a centre of culture for all of Turin.

I would have liked to have breakfast there, or eat something good but in reality the prices are very high and it is normal that it is like that in such a beautiful and particular place. And I even discovered that some films were shot inside. Also because if you can also see the photos it really seems like you are inside a film set almost.
