but Krakow is beautiful!!

IMG_4387.JPG

I must say that as soon as I arrived in Krakow I immediately felt at home and perhaps this is the great power of this city and the first thing to do In my opinion but what I usually do when I arrive in new cities is to take a nice walk through the streets of the center just to immediately discover its strong points.

In fact, the starting point was the Rynek Gล‚รณwny, where I didn't think that this medieval square was so big and then I basically took a walk inside the bottom with the fabrics where there were lots of stalls selling lots of beautiful things, and I also bought a beautiful dragon-shaped stuffed toy which is practically the mascot of the city, but they also sold amber jewels which cost a lot of money, but there is always the doubt that this thing is not true or so they told me.
As soon as I arrived I also tasted some typical sweets, something I had seen on social media and I must say that the prices have increased a little from what they had told me, probably it is also the fault of inflation and tourism which is increasing more and more every year in these areas.

By the way, I can't wait for Monday to arrive, as I have booked free entry to the Town Hall Tower. This imposing Gothic tower is truly fascinating and is practically all that remains of the Old Town Hall in Krakow.

It was very nice to spend some time in this market, even if it seems to me that there are very few historical stalls, what I certainly discovered is that amber is also called the Baltic gold because it is found right on the Baltic Sea, and I, being ignorant, thought that it was extracted at a mining level, but honestly I did not think that a pair of earrings could cost even 50 euros in fact they explained to me that it is now set in many jewels.

Of course, on this main square there is an important church, that of Santa d'Alberto, which is truly a jewel. I visited it precisely because it is very interesting, it is very beautiful and, among other things, it is located on a lower level than the square precisely because you can understand the evolution that has taken place over time in this square.

In conclusion, I can say that Krakow is not just an open-air museum but it gave me the feeling of being a very lively, very welcoming, fragrant place. More than anything, the thing that struck me was the liveliness of this place, and then I did not find such an intrusive or rude tourism as in other cities. So far I must say that it very much reflects my expectations. But follow me for the next post for those who will tell you about other things that are certainly interesting.
