a beautiful walk that made me discover a secret place

IMG_1759.JPG
Hello friends, I hope everything goes great, you know that I am a very curious person and so I wanted to make a cycle/pedestrian path that is located not far from my house, because I had seen several months ago a beautiful place immersed in the Berici Hills, and so I was very curious to discover this place but I did not want to reach it by car, simply on foot because in my opinion it is always the best way to get to these places.

I traveled a stretch of the famous cycle/pedestrian path that starts from Treviso and arrives at Ostiglia in the province of Mantua, a beautiful cycle path that is very popular and has become a very tourist destination in Italy, I definitely recommend you do it to see the beautiful landscapes that this cycle/pedestrian path passes through, I only traveled a part of it that started from Sossano which is located in the province of Vicenza and arrived at this hill where this mysterious monastery is located.

This cycle/pedestrian path was created by recovering the space that was occupied by the trains that passed on this former railway that was created during the First World War, which started from Treviso and reached Ostiglia and along the route you can still come across the old stations that unfortunately are in disuse and are completely abandoned but which remind us of the importance of this route in history.

at a certain point after walking more than 5 km, the path began to climb. In fact, there was a difference in height of almost 80 m where the cycle path was located before, and there you went up towards an important place of peace which is the convent of San Pancrazio, a place as I had told you that I had already seen that certain people were still there in December, and so I went up along this fairly steep road until I found myself in front of this convent.

I then entered this convent, which you think is from the 16th century, in reality as you can already see from the photos it was modified especially around 1700 and was transformed a little into a more baroque part, also because you have to consider that usually the convents were very simple especially the Franciscan ones.

It is always so fascinating to discover these places rich in art, perhaps far from the tourist crowds but always very interesting. It is currently still in operation because there are still religious people and you can even stay here overnight and do spiritual retreats.

I hope this story of mine was interesting, and the photos I shared were also interesting. See you next time
