Today we're visiting an area known as the "Templar tourist zone." Over 800 years ago, battles were fought in these lands that would shape the history and independence of Portugal. Many of these cities were controlled by the Moors, and it was here that the Reconquista played a crucial role for the leader, King Henry II, known as Henry the Conqueror. Abrantes is not far from Lisbon, approximately 100 km, which would take you an hour or an hour and a half by car to reach the Castle. The town is not very big, but it has all the services, from supermarkets to gas stations. You could pay for a hotel and stay here, although it is not recommended because there is not much to see in the area.🏰⛲

The king created a defensive line across the Tagus River because he knew the value of the river in terms of resources and as a geographical barrier; the Moors returned to recover the castle under the command of (Abem Jacob) but it was not possible and on the contrary, they suffered great losses in their army.🚩🏰
Luego de expulsar a los moros en 1185 se construye casi el castillo que vemos hoy en día, pues D. Henrique mandó a fortificar las murallas, El rey creó una línea defensiva a través del Rio Tajo pues él sabía el valor que tenía el río en cuanto a recursos y barrera geográfica; los moros volvieron para recuperar el castillo bajo el mando de: (Abem Jacob) pero no fue posible y al contrario, sufrieron grandes bajas en su ejército.⛺🚙
