Tour of the Gomez Rubio Bridge (Eng- Esp)
Greetings fellow travelers! I hope you have a happy and blessed weekend with your loved ones. It's a pleasure to share my experience crossing the Gómez Rubio Bridge. Located on the Cumanacoa National Highway at the intersection of Aristiguieta Avenue and the avenue of the same name, this bridge surprised me because I had never been in this area before. Although it's an important thoroughfare in the city, it was my first time seeing it. So, I paused my activities in the Historic Center and headed towards this bridge over the Manzanares River. Its design is simple: two white railings on either side of the avenue and a double wall in the center separating the lanes. The wall is white and yellow, and it's decorated with yellow rectangles and an asterisk. This thoroughfare leads to the Legislative Council building and various other parts of the city. It's also a good alternative route when you want to save time or avoid traffic during rush hour.
When I arrived at the bridge, several workers were carrying out maintenance and cleaning work on the banks of the Manzanares River. They invited me to walk down the riverside path, and I obviously couldn't pass up this incredible opportunity to see the bridge up close. At the entrance, there's a rock and cement structure next to a flamboyant tree, and then the walls that support the bridge. There's also a pipe that runs alongside these walls. Below, you can see the beautiful river and the stairs that lead to this path. Interestingly, this path or walkway extends all the way to the Guzmán Blanco Bridge.
Along the way, you can see various trees and the beautiful scenery offered by the Manzanares River as it flows through the city center. Another view of the bridge shows the ornamental plants, the stairs, and the path that leads to the bridge itself. One element that stands out in the city's structures and plazas is the abundance of plants, and this area is no exception. There are several lilies at the beginning of the path, and as you walk along, you encounter different trees, from Ceiba and Neem trees to beautiful ornamental plants.
Saludos amigos viajeros , deseo que tengan un feliz y bendecido fin de semana en unión de sus seres queridos, es un placer compartir mi recorrido por el puente Gómez Rubio, este se ubica entre la carretera nacional Cumanacoa a la altura de la avenida Aristiguieta y la avenida Homónima, me sorprendió ver este puente porque nunca había pasado por esta zona, aunque constituye una arteria vial importante en la ciudad, es la primera vez que lo veo, así que hice una pausa en las actividades que estaba realizando por el centro Histórico y me dirigí hacia este puente sobre el río Manzanares, su diseño es sencillo, dos barandas de color blanco ubicadas a ambos lados de la avenida y en el centro un muro doble que separa los canales, es de color blanco con amarillo, además tiene como decoración rectángulos de color amarillo con una figura de asterisco, esta arteria vial conduce a la sede de la sede del consejo Legislativo, y varios sectores de la ciudad, también es una vía alterna cuando quieres ganar tiempo o esquivar el tráfico en las horas pico.
Cuando llegué al puente habían varios trabajadores realizando las labores de mantenimiento y limpieza en la orilla del río Manzanares, me invitaron a bajar por el sendero del río y obviamente no podía rechazar esta increíble oportunidad, para ver el puente de cerca, en la entrada hay una estructura de roca y cemento al lado una planta de flamboyán y luego los muros que dan soporte al puente, también un tubo que bordea estos muros, debajo se ve el hermoso río y las escaleras que conducen a este sendero, es curioso que este sendero o caminería se extiende hasta el puente Guzmán Blanco.
En el trayecto se observan varios árboles y un hermoso paisaje que ofrece el río Manzanares a su paso por el centro de la ciudad, en otra vista del puente tenemos las plantas ornamentales, las escaleras y el camino que nos lleva hasta el mencionado puente; un elemento que resalta en las estructuras y plazas de la ciudad es la abundancia de plantas y esta zona no es la excepción, hay varios lirios al inicio del sendero y mientras avanzas te consigues con diferentes árboles desde Ceibas, Neem, hasta hermosas plantas ornamentales.

Since it is currently the dry season, the river has not yet reached its maximum flow. With the rainy season, the river rises and sometimes overflows the wall, flooding the square. Next, we observe part of the bridge railings on both sides of Gómez Rubio Avenue and the landscape in the background, which corresponds to the Cantarrana area.
Next, a view of the bridge with its two railings and the wall in the center. This wall is a yellow rectangle on the front, while the sides and top are white. A sidewalk for pedestrians runs alongside it. To be honest, at first I wanted to walk along the sidewalk, but I got scared and decided to stay in a garden a few meters from the bridge and take some photos and views of it. From there, you can see the upper cornice on the railing and a view of the river. The bridge has sidewalks on both sides, one next to each railing and two in the center, one on each side, which facilitates pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
En otra vista se aprecia la caminería ubicada en la parte superior, además del sendero señalado hay un muro de concreto que separa al río de la plaza Vargas, como estamos en tiempo de sequía el río no ha alcanzado su máximo caudal, con el período de lluvias este aumenta y en ocasiones pasa el muro e inunda la plaza. Luego observamos parte de las barandas del puente en ambos sentidos de la avenida Gómez Rubio y el paisaje al fondo que corresponde al sector de Cantarrana.
A continuación, una vista del puente con las dos barandas y el muro ubicado en el centro, este es un rectángulo de color amarillo en la parte frontal y los laterales y parte superior son de color blanco, al lado se ubica una acera para el paso peatonal, siendo honesta al principio quería pasar por la acera, pero me dio miedo y decidí quedarme en un jardín ubicado a pocos metros del puente y desde allí tomar algunas fotografías y vistas del mismo, desde allí se aprecia la cornisa superior en la baranda y una vista del río, el puente cuenta con aceras en ambos sentidos una al lado de cada baranda y dos en el centro una en cada tramo, lo cual facilita el paso peatonal y vehicular.
In the last photographs, you can see different views of the bridge, both sides of the avenue, and a beautiful landscape in the background: a lovely blue sky adorned with clouds and lush vegetation. I enjoyed seeing this bridge up close, especially the walkways located on the lower level. From this vantage point, its structure, shape, and design are best appreciated.
I would have loved to walk along the inner walkways and observe the river from above. I imagine a spectacular panorama with the river's course and the vegetation lining its sides. Beyond the other railing, you can see a beautiful landscape with abundant vegetation, several houses, and cultivated areas. In the center of the bridge, before the wall, there's a kind of island with various ornamental plants. This space marks the entrance to the bridge and connects with Aristiguieta Avenue. I hope to walk along the walkways another time, take a photo from above, and explore the bridge area.
Es las últimas fotografía se observan diferentes vistas del puente, ambos sentidos de la avenida y un hermoso paisaje al fondo, el cielo de un lindo tono azul las nubes adornando y la vegetación del lugar, me gustó conocer este puente observarlo de cerca y especialmente las caminerías ubicadas en la parte baja, desde este punto se aprecia mejor su estructura forma y diseño.
Me hubiese gustado caminar por las calzadas internas, observar el río desde arriba, aquí imagino una espectacular panorámica con el curso del río y la vegetación a los lados, al fondo de la otra baranda se observa un hermoso paisaje con abundante vegetación y varias viviendas y zonas de cultivo, en el centro del puente antes del muro hay una especie de isla y varias plantas ornamentales, este espacio constituye la entrada al puente y converge con la avenida Aristiguieta, espero en otra oportunidad caminar por las calzadas, tomar una foto desde arriba y hacer un rápido recorrido en el área del puente.
