My visit to the Pedro Capechi Allen House of Culture in Tunapuy, Sucre State (Eng - Esp)
Greetings, fellow travelers! It is a pleasure to share my visit to the House of Culture in Tunapuy—located in the Libertador municipality of Sucre State—which sits along the main highway (Troncal 9) that leads toward the town of Güiria. Although it was closed on the day of my visit, I was still able to explore its exterior. The building is what was known in the colonial era as a casona (a large, traditional manor house); it features a triangular, tile-covered roof supported by wooden beams, as well as a wide, carved wooden door with panels on each of its leaves.
Because of the elevation of the terrain in this part of Tunapuy, the building is accessed via a set of stairs, which include a small safety railing for those heading up toward the House of Culture. On the front facade, you can see the building's name and various images representing the activities that take place there. It is named the Pedro Capechi Allen House of Culture; a plaque displays this name, and above it, there are decorative images accented with the colors of the Venezuelan flag.
Saludos amigos viajeros, es un placer compartir mi visita a la casa de la cultura en Tunapuy municipio Libertador, del estado Sucre, esta se encuentra ubicada en avenida principal troncal 9 que conduce a la población de Güiria, el día de mi visita estaba cerrada, pero aún así recorrí la parte frontal de la misma, se trata de una casa también conocida como "casonas", en la época colonial, con el techo de forma triangular cubierto con tejas y vigas de madera, una puerta amplia también en madera tallada con cuadro en cada una de sus hojas.
Debido a la altura del terreno en esta zona de Tunapuy, la casa cuenta con una escalera para acceder, también una pequeña cerca o baranda de seguridad para quienes suben por los escalones y se dirigen hacia la casa de la cultura, en la parte frontal se observa la identificación y algunas imágenes alusivas a las actividades que allí se desarrollan; la casa lleva por nombre Pedro Capechi Allen, tiene una placa donde se identifica el nombre de casa de la cultura y algunas imágenes decoradas con el tricolor venezolano en la parte superior.
Like all colonial-style houses, it features two large, rectangular doors and two square, wooden windows. The façade is decorated with several images, including one that represents traditional Venezuelan music—specifically the Joropo—along with its characteristic instruments: the harp, the cuatro, and the maracas. These images are accented with the colors of the Venezuelan flag. In addition to the artwork depicting the country’s music, there is a depiction of a pair of children dancing—presumably to llanera (plains-style) music.
Como todas la casas de estilo colonial cuenta con dos puertas rectangulares amplias y dos ventanas, estas son cuadradas y también de madera, la fachada está decorada con cuadros entre ellos uno que representa la música tradicional venezolana; El Joropo y sus típicos instrumentos arpa, cuatro y maracas, estas imágenes están decoradas con el Tricolor venezolano, además de la pintura alusiva a la música del país, hay una pareja de niños bailando al parecer la música llanera.
