Evening walk on the beach, San Luis area (Eng - Esp)
Hello fellow travelers! It's a pleasure to greet you. I wish you an excellent and blessed week. Cumaná, located in the eastern region of Venezuela and the capital of Sucre state, is known for its beautiful beaches, long coastline, rivers, and mountains. Among them is San Luis Beach on Avenida Universidad, which is easily accessible. Its refreshing water invites visitors to take a dip and enjoy the scenery. It's one of my favorite beaches in the region because of its soft sand, beautiful landscapes, and abundant palm trees.
Watching the sunset on the beach is one of my favorite natural events. These days, to catch the sunset and enjoy a refreshing swim, I planned to go to the beach in the afternoon. The idea was to arrive before six, because according to my calculations, the sun would already be setting by then. But one detail I completely forgot is that we're in the season where the sun sets late (we have longer days). At 5:47, the sun was at its peak, so I had to wait more than an hour to see the sunset. The view of the beach was beautiful, as always, bathed in the sun's rays and the fresh breeze that characterizes this area. While waiting for the sunset, I took a leisurely walk, observing the scenery and enjoying the breeze. I started my walk from the Los Bordones area to the area behind the Venetur Hotel, where the tennis courts are. There were several people on the beach and a group playing volleyball. Since the sun was a bit strong, I took the path of the The walk was made through arbors, and in the company of some birds that occasionally perched on their roofs, I finished the journey. I tried to photograph them, but they move quickly. I decided to enjoy their company and their beautiful song as I walked. Many times, beautiful moments cannot be captured in photos; they remain treasured in the heart, occupying a special place.
Hola, hola amigos viajeros, es un placer saludarles, deseo que tengan una excelente y bendecida semana, Cumaná ubicada en la región Oriental de Venezuiela y capital del estado Sucre, destaca por sus hermosas playas, largo litoral, ríos y montañas, entre ellas se encuentra playa San Luis en la avenida universidad, la cual es de fácil acceso, y su refrescante agua que invita al visitante a darse un buen baño y disfrutar el paisaje, es una de mis playas favoritas en la región por la suave arena, hermosos paisajes y abundantes palmeras.
Ver el atardecer en la playa, es uno de los eventos naturales que más disfruto, en estos días para ver el atardecer y aprovechar un refrescante baño planifiqué ir a la playa en horas de la tarde, la idea era llegar antes de las seis, porque según mis calculos, a esa hora ya el sol se estaba ocultando, pero un detalle que olvidé por completo, es que estamos en la época donde el sol se oculta tarde (tenemos días más largos), a las 5:47 el sol se encontraba en su máximo esplendor, así que tuve que esperar más de una hora para poder ver el atardecer, la vista de la playa muy bonita, como siempre, bañada por los rayos del sol y la fresca brisa que caracteriza a esta zona, mientras esperaba el atardecer, hice una caminata tranquila y despacio observando el paisaje y disfrutando la brisa, el trayecto lo inicié desde el sector los Bordones hasta el área ubicada detrás del hotel Venetur, donde están las canchas de tenis, habían varias personas en la playa y un grupo jugando voleibol, como el sol estaba un poco fuerte, tomé el sendero de las enramadas para la caminata y en companía de algunas aves que ocasionalmente se posaban en el techo de las mismas terminé el trayecto, intenté fotografiarlas pero se mueven rápido, decidí disfrutar su compañía y el hermoso canto mientras caminaba, muchas veces los hermosos momentos no se pueden plasmar en fotos, quedan atesorados en el corazón ocupando un lugar especial.
The thatched-roof shelters are common in this area of the beach, and it was a pleasant surprise because I thought they were only located near the kiosks. However, several of them are found along the beach, perfect for walking or simply sitting and admiring the beautiful scenery. It's a long path formed by several shelters that offer visitors a protected space from the sun to set down their belongings, lie down by the water's edge, and enjoy the breeze. They are handcrafted structures made of palm fronds and branches. The photograph shows the path these shelters follow along the beach.
These curious huts remind me of those on El Peñón beach. They are rectangular and spread out over a large area of the beach. They are also different from those found between the Venetur Hotel and Cangrejo Azul, as they have a circular and pointed shape, similar to the bohíos, a type of dwelling used by indigenous groups for many years and still built in the villages where they live, usually isolated areas in the mountains and along rivers.
Las enramadas son comunes en esta zona de la playa y fue una agradable sorpresa porque pensé que estas se ubicaban solo en la parte de los kioscos, pero a lo largo de la playa se encuentran varias de ellas y son perfectas para caminar o sencillamente sentarse a observar el hermoso paisaje, es un largo sendero formado por varias enramadas que ofrecen al visitante un espacio protegido del sol para colocar los utensilios, recostarse a la orilla de la playa y disfrutar la brisa; son construcciones artesanales con palmeras y ramas, en la fotografía se aprecia el sendero que siguen estas enramadas por la orilla de la playa.
Estas curiosas chozas, me recuerdan a las que hay en la playa El Peñón, son rectangulares y se encuentran distribuidas en un amplio espacio de la playa, además son diferentes a las que se encuentran desde el hotel Venetur hasta Cangrejo Azul, pues tienen forma circular y puntiaguda similar a los bohíos, una vivienda de los grupos indígenas que data desde hace muchos años y aún se construye en las aldes donde habitan, regularmente zonas aisladas en la montañas y ríos.
Continuing my walk, I took several photos of the beach, and finally, my long-awaited moment arrived: sunset. The sun's reflection on the water was beautiful and created a striking contrast, like a path leading to infinity and merging with the sky. Unlike other sunsets, because it gets dark later than usual in the city, I couldn't see it in its entirety as it was getting late, just a few minutes before 7:00. Although it wasn't what I had expected, I enjoyed the view and observing how the landscape changed with the sun's angle and its later sunset. This is because we are in the period leading up to the summer solstice, and the country, being located very close to the equator, receives more hours of sunlight. This slight variation in hours allowed me to see a very different sunset and take a walk in the sunlight among the thatched huts.
It was definitely a very pleasant visit, full of surprises. The thatched huts were a great help during my walk, protecting me from the sun and allowing me to observe an extraordinary sunset, unlike any I've seen before in this coastal area. The birds flew happily in the sky, some were fishing, and gradually the sun began to set. On my way back to the bus stop, I took a photograph and observed the way the sun fell in this area as night approached. Visiting the beach in the morning or afternoon is undoubtedly a great experience to connect with nature, relax, and contemplate the wonders of Creation.
Avanzando en la caminata tomé varias fotografías de la playa y finalmente llegó mi momento esperado, el atardecer, el reflejo del sol en el agua se ve muy bonito y crea un gran contraste, parece un camino que conduce al infinito y se une con el cielo, a diferencia de otros atardeceres, debido a que en la ciudad oscurece más tarde de lo habitual, no pude verlo completo porque la hora había avanzado y faltaban pocos minutos para las 7, aunque no fue lo que esperaba me gustó la vista y observar como el paisaje cambia con la incidencia del sol y al ocultarse más tarde de lo común, porque estamos en la época que antecede al solsticio de verano y el país por estar ubicado muy cerca del ecuador recibe más horas de luz, esta pequeña variación de horas me permitió ver un atardecer muy diferente y hacer una caminata a la luz del sol entre las enramadas.
Definitivamente fue una visita muy agradable y llena de sorpresas, por las enramadas que fueron de gran ayuda durante mi caminata para protegerme del sol y observar un atardecer fuera de lo común, nada que ver con los que he presenciado anteriormente en esta zona costera; las aves volaban felices en el firmamento, algunas estaban pescando y progresivamente el sol se fue ocultando, ya de vuelta a la parada para tomar el transporte, tomé una fotografía y observa en esta zona la incidencia del sol, mientras se acerca la noche, visitar la playa en la mañana o en la tarde, es sin duda una gran experiencia para conectar con la naturaleza, relajarse y contemplar las maravillas de la Creación.

Tuve la oportunidad de ir varias veces a Cumaná a sus playas pero esta no la recuerdo, se ve muy bonita y que bueno que esperaste por el atardecer, se ve bellísimo 😍
