Beach walk in the Caigüire area, along the rocky trail (Eng - Esp)
Happy weekend to fellow travelers around the world; I hope you are in good health and having an excellent, blessed day with your loved ones. Today, I’m sharing my visit to the coastal area of Caigüire, where I followed a rocky path along the shore and observed various rock formations scattered across the coastline.
Some are black, others reddish or beige; they form a small walkway along the water's edge, while others simply sit in the sand—perhaps shifted there by the wind and waves. During this walk—accompanied, as always, by my son—we took the time to examine the local rocks. I was struck by a reddish one that resembled sandstone, as well as several black rocks that seemed to frame a small bay. There is also a wider path made of black rocks—a perfect route for those who love walking by the shore and watching the waves up close. You also have the chance to spot charming crabs that regularly come out in the afternoon to walk and sunbathe along the rocky path.

Hoy comparto mi visita a la zona costera de Caigüire, donde recorrí un sendero rocoso a la orilla del mar y observé diversas formaciones rocosas dispersas por el litoral.
Algunas son negras, otras rojizas o beige; forman una especie de camino junto al agua, mientras que otras simplemente descansan sobre la arena, tal vez desplazadas hasta allí por el viento y el oleaje. Durante este paseo, acompañado, como siempre, por mi hijo, nos detuvimos a examinar las rocas del lugar. Me llamó la atención una rojiza que parecía arenisca, así como varias rocas negras que parecían enmarcar una pequeña bahía. También hay un sendero más ancho formado por rocas negras: una ruta perfecta para quienes disfrutan caminar junto al mar y observar las olas de cerca. Además, existe la oportunidad de ver encantadores cangrejos que suelen salir por la tarde a pasear y tomar el sol a lo largo del camino rocoso.
The rocks are also perfect—and just the right size—for sitting and watching the waves crash against them up close. As you move along, you encounter moss-covered rocks and flat ones that are ideal for walking on easily. To be honest, I hadn't realized just how many rocks lined this path; they border the beach and, beyond acting as a protective barrier, are excellent for walking and observing the beach's diversity. They come in various shapes—pointed, rounded, square, and flat—likely sculpted over the years by the action of water, wind, and constant shifting.
The reddish rock is one of my favorites; we were able to sit on it, take in the scenery, and examine its colors, fissures, and texture in detail. There is also an area covered with soil and small black rocks—mostly flat ones that appear to be limestone—which have been washed down by the water and deposited in the lower zone.

La roca de color rojizo, es una de mis favoritas, en ella pudimos sentarnos, observar, el paisaje y ver en detalle sus colores, fisuras y textura, también hay un espacio cubierto con tierra y pequeñas rocas de color negro, estas en su mayoría son planas, al parecer rocas calizas, que han sido arrastradas por el agua y se depositan en la zona baja,
Moving forward, we took the path along the larger rocks, always keeping a safe distance from the shoreline to avoid getting splashed by the waves hitting the stone. As the afternoon progressed, the surf and wind shifted from gentle to moderate—one of the spectacles I enjoy most when visiting the beach, aside from the sunset itself, is watching the water crash against the rocks and the rain-like effect it creates as droplets scatter across the stones and the shore. Further along, we saw various rocks that, judging by their shape, appeared to be sediment deposits—material the sea gradually drags in and accumulates to fill the area. Then came a view of several massive boulders, known locally as guarataras; these serve as hideouts for crabs and other creatures seeking refuge from predators and the force of the water while they roam.
After completing our walk and identifying some of the rocks, we sat down once more to take in the scenery until the sun began to set. We simply watched the sky fill with changing colors, and as the sun dipped below the horizon, we headed back home.
Avanzando, tomamos el camino de las rocas más grandes, siempre manteniendo una distancia prudente de la playa, y así evitar que el agua al golpear la roca nos mojara, mientras avanzaba la tarde, el oleaje y el viento pasaron de suave a moderado, es uno de los espectáculos que más disfruto cuando visito la playa, además del atardecer, es ver el agua chocar con la roca y el efecto de lluvia que este causa, varias gotas se dispersan mojando las rocas y la orilla de la playa, a continuación se observan varias rocas, que por su forma parecen ser sedimentos que el mar va arrastrando y acumulando para rellenar el área, luego tenemos otra vista de varias rocas muy grandes, también conocidas como guarataras, que sirven de guarida para los cangrejos y otros animales que se resguardan en ellas de los depredadores y también de la acción del agua cuando están paseando.
Luego de hacer nuestro recorrido, ver algunas rocas e identificarlas, nos sentamos nuevamente a observar el paisaje hasta que el sol empezó a ocultarse, sencillamente veíamos como el cielo se iba pintando de diferentes colores y con el ocaso del sol tomamos el camino de vuelta a casa.
