When I move away from the city centre, although it is charming, there are many interesting and varied places, the surprises I find are even greater. Every place has something special about it, every corner of the city and I find it very interesting to discover and explore each of them.

Today's tour and exploration took place on a day when the rains let me walk a bit and on a day when there was a bit of sunshine, although at the end of the tour the dark and threatening clouds, plus the lightning in the distance, made me leave the place abruptly. My idea was to explore one more place, but that will be for another opportunity.

It is one of the last beaches of the city and precisely the last one where you can see neighbourhoods, shops, restaurants. I started to walk along it from east to west, heading towards the city centre. After that beach, going east, you will find the port of El Candado, and continuing along the path you will reach the beach Peñón del Cuervo, which I have talked about before, but in this stretch there are no neighbourhoods, the last one in the city being the one with the same name as the port.

For these reasons the beach of El Dedo is still surrounded by restaurants, but it is not so touristy, but rather has a family atmosphere as I walked along the whole stretch of the beach. There are several chiringuitos (beach bars), with the classic little boats where the espetos malagueños are grilled. But in the first part of the walk I came across a children's park, small but very picturesque because of the art it contained. The beach toilets are always beautifully decorated with very realistic and perfect paintings.

Also in the beach area there are many playgrounds, every few minutes, everything is very well kept and unlike the more touristy beaches, these are not only more solitary, but also cleaner and more well-kept. The touristy ones require much more work.

I spent as much time as I could in the sun enjoying the scenery and also taking lots of photographs. One of the things I am most passionate about is the sea, so I took a lot of pictures of it. Many times the sun was hiding behind the clouds and the pictures were also very interesting as if the day was turning into night.

I walked along the promenade of the place but also went down to the beach area to walk along it, I was alternating and enjoying all the spaces, both the marked path and the view of the houses, small houses that at the beginning were and formed fishermen's neighbourhoods, as well as the restaurants, beach bars and the area of palm trees, beach, sand and the whole in general.

When I walked along the sand, along the coast, very close to the water, the sound of the sea was very relaxing and the foam came softly to wet the sand. It is on these occasions that I like to take pictures of the environment I am in, of the neighbourhoods in the distance, at least what I could see, of the areas where there are palm trees and of the sky with the shapes of the clouds blocking out the sun from time to time.

At times the sun would go down and the sand would appear dark, and then as it shone again, the sand would glow.

Then I went back up to the promenade area to enjoy the promenade and the views on either side. Restaurants sit side by side, alternating with the houses in the area. There are no tall buildings in this part of town and on this part of the walk, since as I mentioned much of the eastern part of the promenade was used for fishermen's dwellings.

During the walk I could see many beach restrooms, all artistically painted, as well as signs indicating the beach, maps, flags and many people taking advantage of the sun, the good food and the view of the quiet beach, without bustle. It was still autumn, the first days of December and the weather was not cold at all.

Besides the beauty of the sea and above all the smell of the sea, the smell of salt water, which you can't detect on other beaches, especially the more touristy ones, one of the things I liked the most was the large number of games for children, seeing whole families enjoying themselves and above all lots of people strolling along the path in a quiet way. The atmosphere is very different, relaxed.

I went back down to the beach area before finishing my walk and when I turned around I could enjoy a beautiful rainbow and turning around again I enjoyed the white foam that the sea brings as if it was a delicate blanket.

I was very close to the end of the stretch of this beach that continues with the beach of El palo and is separated by a pedestrian walkway that looks like a bridge. The bridge crosses over a stream which at the moment is dry, called the Galica stream.

Being on the bridge I took the last pictures of this great tour and seeing that behind me a storm was coming I decided to end that day, but with the promise to continue touring more beaches of the city and discover the charm of each one of them.
