It so much fun end to the year, cap off with a short vacation to Bangkok to watch this year's SEA Games in Thailand. Although it so ultimately postponed due to the death of Queen Sirikit last October, but the event going a success, despite the ongoing mourning period.
I feel like I almost went crazy, having already bought tickets in early October, planning this trip to watch the SEA Games. However, it went perfectly, and I even got to enjoy public transportation, a mode rarely seen by tourists.

I call it riding a "going merry" boat, like in the anime "One Piece." But in real life, riding the Saen Saep Boat was truly enchanting. The route is quite long, from Bang Kapi to Pratunam Pier, with an estimated one-hour journey without traffic. Huh? Without traffic? This is a canal where only government-managed boats operate.

We staying in the Ramkamhaeng district it's very close to the Hua Mak Indoor Stadium where volleyball matches are held, and I often to Nimibutr in the Pratunam area to watch basketball games. So, taking a boat like this is the best way to avoid traffic jam in everywhere in Bangkook and is even the most visible option in terms of price and estimate time. Although it can sometimes be a bit crowded, it's still a bit cramped.
Almost all Bangkok residents living in the Wat Sri Bunruang Watergate area use this boat for transportation. The boat running every 10 minutes, with the last trip at 8.00 PM. So make sure you don't leave to late, LOL.
Here, i will show you the prices and boat routes, just in case you need this in the future when traveling to Bangkok. Bangkok is currently bustling with tourists. Seriously... This city is a dream, and I've been here 13 times and keep wanting to go again :D

Hi! Let me introduce myself, its me Wita.
I'm just a woman who wants to write whatever's on my mind. I really enjoy cooking, occasionally traveling, and doing whatever I like. I want to live like a bird flying freely in nature. But I know I'm only human. So, I can only write freely like a bird that can fly with its two wings.
I'm usually very interested in new things. Let me be creative with at least these writings. I welcome any suggestions, as long as you mention them politely in the comments section. We can have a free discussion every now and then.
Don't think too much of me as you see in my posts. I'm just sharing what I have, and some of it is actually quite enjoyable to post. It's just that I don't really like posting bad things. I hope we continue to work together to build this Hive community.

That sounds like a fantastic way to experience Bangkok. Using the Saen Saep Boat really gives you a feel for the cityโs everyday rhythm, far beyond the usual tourist routes. Great choice! :)
cause i really loved this type of traveling..
Your account of your holiday in Bangkok and your experience of the Southeast Asian Games is a beautiful reminder of how, even in the midst of adversity, we can find joy and meaning. The loss of Queen Sirikit certainly marks a period of mourning, but it is admirable how you managed to adapt and enjoy what the city has to offer.
The metaphor of "sailing on a joyful boat" is charming and reflects that ability to find beauty and fun in everyday life. Public transport, often despised by tourists, becomes an adventure in itself, a way to connect with local life and experience the city in an authentic way.
Your enthusiasm for Bangkok and its vibrant culture is contagious. It's clear that each visit leaves you wanting to return, and that's a testament to the power of places that touch our hearts. In the end, what really matters are the experiences we have and the connections we make, and you have known how to make the most of every moment.
Thank you for sharing your trip and your transport recommendations. I'm sure they will be very useful for those lucky enough to visit this wonderful city.
One type of traveling I enjoy is seeing how local people live and go about their activities. I don't even particularly enjoy looking at the scenery, traveling is essentially about the individual.
