Journey to the Mata Ie Pool Bathing Destination // A Tourist Attraction That Still Has Its Natural Beauty.

In this blog, I want to share a natural tourist destination called "Kolam Mata Ie," which has been around since the 1970s and is located in the Geundring area, Darul Imarah, Aceh Besar Regency.

The weather was extremely hot while we were touring Banda Aceh a few days ago with my friends.

Because of this, I personally took the initiative to go to the Mata Ie pool. This pool has been a tourist destination since the 1970s. It boasts a cool atmosphere and is easily accessible, about 7 km from downtown Banda Aceh.

Here are some pictures I took showing how hot the weather in my area has been over the past few days, with temperatures reaching 31 degrees Celsius.

Before arriving at the tourist destination, my fatigue began to be repaid by the views I witnessed on the way to Kolam Mata Ie.

How could it not be? On the way to this destination, the views I witnessed were expansive rice fields and towering hills along the left and right sides of the road, adding to its beauty.

And most importantly, the typical rural atmosphere was very calm and cool.

My friends...
Besides being located not far from Banda Aceh City, the journey to Kolam Mata Ie is also very easy due to the very smooth road.

And without realizing it, we had traveled approximately 15 minutes from downtown Banda Aceh. Finally, we arrived at the main tourist destination, "Kolam Mata Ie."

Visitors must pay an entrance fee of IDR 5,000 per person, equivalent to 5 HIVE coins (current price). For parking, we only pay IDR 2,000 per motorcycle.
So, in total, we had to pay IDR 7,000 per person to enter the area, equivalent to 7 HIVE coins (current price).
For me, this is a very affordable price to enjoy this tourist destination.

Considering that we went there at the weekend, the visitors were very crowded and we could see this in the parking area where we had to park our motorbikes in an additional area instead of the main area, while the main area was already full of other visitors' motorbikes.

Regarding facilities, this destination also boasts adequate facilities, as is typical of destinations in Aceh.

And upon entering the area, the first thing we notice is the prayer room.

This place is very cool, with natural water from the mountains, and there are several pools of varying depths, making it safe for non-swimmers like me.
This is one of the swimming pools with water directly from the mountains, and its depth is highly recommended for small children.

Besides, the Mata Ie baths are truly a feast for the eyes, with their beautiful and pristine natural scenery. Another interesting thing about Mata Ie baths is that you can bring food from home and enjoy it right by the pool. However, if you don't want to bring your own food, don't worry, as many locals sell various snacks, such as instant noodles, crispy meatballs, grilled meatballs, and various drinks.

From all of that, I can say that this place is one of the choices for pampering our bodies by playing in the water. The comfortable environment is also surrounded by shady green trees. Most interestingly, the prices of snacks here are very affordable compared to prices at other marine and tourist destinations in Aceh.
