Discovering a Hidden Paradise Atop the Hill: Cot Siribee Viewpoint, Sabang

It has been about a month since I last shared a post with this beloved community, but today I want to share a truly amazing spot on Weh Island—a place I visited a few months ago. Among all the popular tourist destinations I have shared before, there is one place that quietly captured my heart: the Cot Seribee View Point. If you ever vacation on Weh Island and are looking for a spot far from the crowds—a place that is truly in harmony with nature—I believe the location I am sharing today is the perfect choice.

Journey to the top of the hill
To reach the place I am sharing today, I first had to leave the hustle and bustle of the city center. I rode my motorcycle up into the hills; the road was incredibly smooth and winding, flanked by dense tropical rainforest.

Honestly, I really loved the atmosphere along the route to this location. The air was cool—typical of a tropical rainforest—and overcast skies set the mood for the journey. My only companions were the sound of the motorcycle engine and the occasional chirping of birds inhabiting the forest.

Moreover, I didn't see any vendors along the way—so there was no bustle here, just the company of the surrounding tropical forest.

After a journey of about 30 minutes from the city center, I finally reached the destination; here are some photos I took at that bend in the road, which marked the endpoint of our trip.

A simple place of rare, untouched natural beauty
Cot Seuribee View Point is a spot of unspoiled natural beauty; it is not a grandly developed tourist attraction—there are no gazebos, food stalls, or entrance fees here. Instead, there is simply a wide roadside area where one can pull over and enjoy a humble vantage point offering a magnificent view.

Now, let’s explore the area and take in the scenery—a place many describe as a hidden, untouched paradise in Sabang.

More Than Just a View
Many people visit Weh Island to dive and admire the scenery and beautiful beaches, yet few intentionally head to the hills simply to soak up the atmosphere. However, Cot Seuribee View Point taught me something: beauty doesn't always have to be spectacular. Sometimes, it lies in simple things—winding roads, lush forests, overcast skies, and even modest structures.

I spent over half an hour sitting there, simply savoring the extraordinary view—an experience that felt truly immersive.

It was then I realized that this area isn't just about the sea; it is also about the mountains, the forests, and the small roads that lead you to places you never expected to find.

I visited many spots on the island—from the beaches to the town—but this particular place, Cherrybelle, felt different. Perhaps it is because the area hasn't yet been spoiled by mass tourism, giving the silence there a genuine quality; or maybe it was simply because the place offered incredible tranquility just when I was feeling weary from life.
