Viendo el Bernabéu desde una fábrica de cerveza - Viewing the Bernabéu from a brewery (ENG-ESP)

Antes de ir a España, mientras organizaba el viaje y veía todas las recomendaciones a través de videos en TikTok, descubrí algo curioso: había una forma bastante económica de acercarse al estadio del Real Madrid sin hacer el tour oficial.

No soy fan del fútbol. De hecho, mi novio es del Barça, así que digamos que nuestra relación no tiene precisamente ADN madridista 😅. Pero estábamos quedándonos tan cerca del estadio que parecía casi un pecado no ir a ver algo tan icónico.

Before going to Spain, while I was organizing the trip and watching all the recommendations through videos on TikTok, I discovered something curious: there was a fairly affordable way to get close to Real Madrid’s stadium without taking the official tour.

I’m not a soccer fan. In fact, my boyfriend is a Barça supporter, so let’s just say our relationship doesn’t exactly have Madridista DNA 😅. But we were staying so close to the stadium that it almost felt like a sin not to go see something so iconic.

En uno de esos videos mostraban una pequeña fábrica de cerveza Mahou en la puerta 54 del estadio. Desde ahí se podía ver una buena parte del Santiago Bernabéu. Me pareció una forma distinta y más relajada (y barata) de vivir la experiencia.

Dentro se puede ver cómo las máquinas procesan la cerveza. No es solo un bar, es una experiencia visual. Las estructuras metálicas, el movimiento constante, el sonido suave del proceso, es interesante ver cómo lo que luego tienes en una botella está ocurriendo a pocos metros de ti.

Es importante resaltar que cuando fuimos era pleno verano, intenso, donde el sol parece no tener compasión. Pero al entrar al local el ambiente cambia completamente: aire acondicionado, un espacio fresco y ese contraste entre el calor de la calle y lo templado del interior.

In one of those videos, they showed a small Mahou beer factory located at Gate 54 of the stadium. From there, you could see a good portion of the Santiago Bernabéu. It seemed like a different and more relaxed (and cheaper) way to experience it.

Inside, you can watch the machines processing the beer. It’s not just a bar; it’s a visual experience. The metal structures, the constant movement, the soft sound of the process—it’s interesting to see how what later ends up in a bottle is happening just a few feet away from you.

It’s important to mention that when we went, it was the middle of summer—intense, with a sun that seemed to have no mercy. But as soon as you step inside, the atmosphere changes completely: air conditioning, a cool space, and that contrast between the heat outside and the tempered interior.

Desde donde estábamos sentados se veía el estadio y las remodelaciones que estaban haciendo en ese momento. Solo nos separaba una valla, era consciente de que estaba frente a uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de Madrid.

From where we were sitting, you could see the stadium and the renovations that were taking place at the time. Only a fence separated us, and I was aware that I was standing in front of one of Madrid’s most emblematic landmarks.

En cuanto a las cervezas, probamos varias. En una de las fotos se puede ver la carta con las opciones y los precios, lo cual me pareció bastante accesible considerando la ubicación. Mi favorita fue la Radler. Refrescante, ligera, con ese toque cítrico que en pleno verano se agradece muchísimo. Me recordó un poco a la Smirnoff por lo fácil que es de tomar, pero con ese carácter más suave de la cerveza. Era exactamente lo que necesitábamos después de caminar bajo el sol inclemente.

As for the beers, we tried several. In one of the photos, you can see the menu with the options and prices, which I found quite reasonable considering the location. My favorite was the Radler. Refreshing, light, with that citrus touch that you truly appreciate in the middle of summer. It reminded me a bit of Smirnoff because of how easy it is to drink, but with the softer character of beer. It was exactly what we needed after walking under the relentless sun.
