There’s this resort not too far from where we live that used to be the place to be like everyone in the area knew about it. Birthdays Sunday afternoons even just random days when you wanted to get away from home for a bit… we had all head there. Had great spots to sit a pool that was always cool and clear and these little huts where you could hang out no matter if it was sunny or raining..

Then out of nowhere it just got left behind. Nobody looked after it for years and years. Grass grew up to your knees easy the huts started falling apart roofs caving in a little wood getting all rotten and gray. The pool turned into a muddy mess with leaves and junk floating around

and even the tables and chairs we used to sit at were all wobly or covered in vines. Kinda bummed me out walking past it because you could still picture how it was back in the day kids splashing in the pool families sharing food under the big huts friends just lazing around talking about anything and everything.

But hey good news! A bunch of people from our neighborhood got together and said “enough is enough, let’s bring this place back”. They are not doing it all fast and crazy either taking it nice and slow making sure every little thing gets done right..

First thing they tackled was all that overgrown grass spent weeks cutting it down pulling out weeds and now you can actually see the green lawn again like it used to be. Then they started on the pool scooped out all the muck fixed up the cracks in the sides and even got the filter working again. Last time i saw it they were getting ready to fill it with water can’t wait to see it sparkling again!

They are working on the buildings too now. The wooden fences that were leaning way over like they had fall any second? All straightened up and nailed back tight. Those big huts with the palm leaf roofs? They are stripping off the old dried-out leaves and putting on fresh ones looks brand new.

There’s this cute little triangle-shaped cabin that was almost hidden behind trees they have cut back all the branches around it scraped off the old paint and are giving it a whole new look. Even the old wooden tables and chairs are getting some love sanding down all the rough spots tightening up loose legs and making them sturdy again so we can sit there without worrying about tipping over..

They are trimming all the trees and bushes too not too much just enough so you can move around easy and see everything but still keeping that cozy “in the jungle” feel we always loved. It’s honestly so cool watching it all come together They are not trying to turn it into some fancy hotel or anything just make it nice again like how it was when we were kids.

Every time i go past there’s something new they have fixed up or added last week they put in some new plants around the entrance, the week before they fixed the lights so the place is not all dark at night anymore. Pretty amazing what a bunch of people can do when they care about something. Can’t wait until it’s all done gonna be the best spot to hang out again just like old times.
