Un ratito en "El Valle del Espíritu Santo"/ A while at "El Valle del Espíritu Santo" ⛪️♥️

Hello gente! Qué tal va su fin de semana? Por estos lados hoy fue día de torneo de ajedrez y aunque Matías ya no practica esta disciplina los torneos se han convertido en la excusa perfecta para compartir con mis amigas Claudimar y Jesy, por lo que cada vez que puedo me organizo con Claudimar y nos vamos juntas para reunirnos con Jesy, que como saben junto con su esposo son los organizadores de estos eventos.

Hello everyone! How’s your weekend going? Around here, today was the chess tournament, and although Matías no longer plays, the tournaments have become the perfect excuse to catch up with my friends Claudimar and Jesy. So, whenever I can, I arrange to meet up with Claudimar and we head over together to meet Jesy, who, as you know, organises these events with her husband.

El día de hoy el torneo se realizó en el C.C. Ecocenter ubicado en El Valle, Municipio García de nuestra bella isla, y por suerte eran rondas cortas, de hecho el torneo fue solo por hoy (generalmente son dos o más días) y terminaría a las 3:00 p.m. por lo que teníamos que aprovechar el tiempo juntas, así que estuvimos conversando un rato mientras se desarrollaban las partidas, pero luego nos picaron los piecitos y agarramos calle 🤣, y ya que estábamos en El Valle y cerca de la hora de almuerzo, nos fuimos hasta la basílica de la virgen del valle.

En este lugar siempre hay muchas personas que vienen a visitar la basílica, y los fines de semana mucho más, así que había movimiento tanto en la basílica como en todos los locales que estban alrededor, incluidos los puestos de artesanías y bisutería que se instalan en las afueras de la iglesia, así que aprovechamos de curiosear un rato y tomarnos algunas fotitos.

Today the tournament took place at the Ecocenter Shopping Centre in El Valle, in the municipality of García on our beautiful island, and luckily the rounds were short; in fact, the tournament was just for today (they usually last two or more days) and was due to finish at 3:00 p.m., so we had to make the most of our time together, so we chatted for a while whilst the games were underway, but then we got restless and headed out 🤣, and since we were in El Valle and it was nearly lunchtime, we went to the Basilica of the Virgin of the Valley.

There are always lots of people visiting the basilica, and even more at the weekends, so it was bustling both inside the basilica and in all the surrounding shops, including the craft and jewellery stalls set up outside the church, so we took the opportunity to have a browse and snap a few photos.

En estos puestos de vendedores informales puedes encontrar más que todo imágenes de la virgen y mucha bisutería con la misma temática, aunque si buscas bien te puedes encontrar con otras cositas súper lindas y a precios bastante accesibles, pero nosotras no fuimos de compras como tal, sino que estábamos buscando una opción para comer, así que después de recorrer los diferentes puestos y ver toda la mercancía caminamos hasta el Boulevard de las empanadas de la virgen del valle.

Este es un lugar que cuenta con diferentes locales donde obviamente puedes disfrutar de las deliciosas empanadas, pero también puedes encontrar mucho más que empanadas, de hecho nosotras compramos cachapas con queso y sopita de res, pero para llevar, ya que César, el hijo de Claudi estaba esperando para almorzar, así que hicimos nuestro pedido y regresamos a Ecocenter.

At these street stalls, you’ll mostly find images of the Virgin and lots of costume jewellery with the same theme, although if you look carefully you might come across other really cute little things at quite affordable prices. However, we weren’t there to shop as such; we were actually looking for somewhere to eat, so after browsing the various stalls and looking at all the goods, we walked to the Boulevard de las Empanadas de la Virgen del Valle.

This is a place with various stalls where, obviously, you can enjoy delicious empanadas, but you can also find much more than just empanadas. In fact, we bought cheese cachapas and beef soup, but to take away, as César, Claudi’s son, was waiting for lunch, so we placed our order and headed back to Ecocenter.

Una vez allá, la verdad es que después de comer, entre conversa y conversa con los chicos que salían entre ronda y ronda se me olvidó por completo seguir tomando fotos, lo que quiere decir que la estaba pasando realmente bien, y es que "con amigos la vida es más bonita" y en Margarita mucho más!

Once we got there, to be honest, after lunch, what with chatting with the lads between rounds, I completely forgot to keep taking photos – which just goes to show I was having a really good time. After all, "life is better with friends" – and in Margarita, even more so!
