[ENG/ESP] A Wednesday, when everything finds its own rhythm
I wish you all a happy Wednesday, wonderful community.
Today I want to share with you a very special outing we took as a family—one of those days that start early and end by leaving us with a lovely sense of togetherness and satisfaction.
We headed out first thing in the morning because we had to travel practically all over the city looking for prices on some materials we needed to buy. It was a day of errands—the kind that seem simple but still require time and patience, and it’s even better when you’re in good company. This time, in addition to my husband, our son came along with us. He usually handles everything related to budgets, accounts, and computer work within the family business, since he has a degree in computer science, and that helps us a lot. However, on this day, he decided to come along in person and give us a hand throughout the whole process, which made the day much more enjoyable.
The three of us set out together in beautiful weather—the kind that invites you to stroll without rushing and enjoy the journey.

Hoy quiero compartirles un recorrido muy especial que hicimos en familia, uno de esos días que comienzan temprano y terminan dejándonos una sensación bonita de unión y satisfacción.
Desde la mañana salimos a la calle porque teníamos que recorrer prácticamente toda la ciudad en busca de precios para unos materiales que necesitábamos comprar. Era un día de diligencias, de esos que parecen simples pero que igual requieren tiempo, paciencia y si es con buena compañía mucho mejor. Esta vez, además de mi esposo, nos acompañó nuestro hijo. Él normalmente se encarga de todo lo relacionado con presupuestos, cuentas y trabajos en la computadora dentro de la empresa familiar, ya que es graduado en sistemas y eso nos ayuda muchísimo. Sin embargo, este día decidió acompañarnos personalmente y darnos una mano en todo el proceso, lo cual hizo que la jornada fuera mucho más amena.
Salimos los tres juntos bajo un clima hermoso, de esos que invitan a andar sin prisa y disfrutar el recorrido.
After visiting several places, we found a hardware store in Atamos Norte that had exactly the materials we were looking for and, to our surprise, at the best prices. We ended up buying everything we needed and, as often happens, a few things that weren’t on the list but that we thought would be useful for future projects. Once we loaded everything up, we took it to the storage unit so it would be ready for when we start that project.
Después de visitar varios lugares, encontramos una ferretería en Atamos Norte que tenía exactamente los materiales que buscábamos y, para nuestra sorpresa, con los mejores precios. Terminamos comprando todo lo necesario y, como suele pasar, también algunas cosas que no estaban en la lista pero que nos parecieron útiles para futuros trabajos. Una vez cargamos todo, lo llevamos al depósito para tenerlo listo el día que comencemos esa labor.
It was already 2:30 in the afternoon, and between running errands and chatting, we hadn't eaten anything. Our son suggested going to La Vela Mall, one of his favorites, and having lunch at KFC, which is also his favorite food. That sounded perfect to us, so we headed there.
Ya eran las 2:30 de la tarde y, entre diligencias y conversaciones, no habíamos comido nada. Nuestro hijo sugirió ir al centro comercial La Vela, uno de sus favoritos, y almorzar en KFC, que también es su comida preferida. A nosotros nos pareció perfecto, así que nos dirigimos hacia allá.
When we arrived, he placed our order, and then we went and sat at a table facing the escalators. It caught my attention because he’s taken us to eat there on other occasions, and he always chooses that same table. I think that little detail speaks to how everyone has their favorite spots—those places where they feel comfortable and at home.
Al llegar, él hizo el pedido y luego nos fuimos a sentar en una mesa que da hacia las escaleras eléctricas. Me llamó la atención porque ya en otras ocasiones nos ha invitado a comer allí y siempre elige esa misma mesa. Creo que ese pequeño detalle habla de cómo cada persona tiene sus rincones favoritos, esos lugares que les resultan cómodos y familiares.
When the food arrived, we really enjoyed it. He ordered a huge meal that I couldn't finish, but when the three of us are together, there are never any leftovers, because both my son and my husband have hearty appetites. Amid laughter, conversation, and that pleasant atmosphere that arises when a family shares a simple moment, lunch became a really lovely part of the day.
Cuando llegó la comida, la disfrutamos muchísimo. Él pidió un combo enorme que yo no pude terminar, pero cuando estamos los tres juntos nunca sobra nada, porque tanto mi hijo como mi esposo tienen muy buen apetito. Entre risas, conversaciones y ese ambiente agradable que se crea cuando la familia comparte un momento sencillo, el almuerzo se convirtió en una parte muy bonita del día.
After lunch, we headed home feeling like we’d checked everything off our to-do list and, on top of that, enjoyed some precious time together. For me, these outings are special—not just because of what we do, but because of what they represent: the chance to share, to talk, and to be there for one another.

Después de comer, regresamos a casa con la sensación de haber cumplido con todo lo que teníamos pendiente y, además, de haber disfrutado un tiempo valioso juntos.
