[ENG/ESP] A Wednesday stroll full of little stories
Greetings, dear #wednesdaywalk community! I hope you have a wonderful day filled with positive energy. As I do every week, I’m happy to connect with you all to share a little bit of my daily routine, thanks to the wonderful initiative by @tattoodjay, who always encourages us to share our walks and enjoy others’ as well. It’s a lovely way to connect, to see our everyday surroundings through fresh eyes, and to appreciate those simple moments that make every day special.
My day started very early, as it usually does when we have work to do. We had to head to the Parque Costa Azul Shopping Center to complete a job that had been put on hold the day before, and then we had to find an asbestos gasket to fix an annoying noise in the manifold of the work truck. So, without wasting any time, we got ready and set out in good spirits.
The weather was excellent at dawn, one of those days when the sky seems wider and the colors more vivid. That kind of light that makes both urban and natural landscapes look radiant and beautiful.
I took the opportunity to capture a few moments with my phone, because I always think of you and how nice it is to share what we see on our journeys.

Como cada semana, me alegra encontrarme con ustedes para compartir un pedacito de mi rutina, gracias a la hermosa iniciativa de @tattoodjay, que siempre nos motiva a mostrar nuestros recorridos y disfrutar también de los de los demás. Es una manera bonita de conectarnos, de ver nuestros paisajes cotidianos con otros ojos y de valorar esos momentos simples que hacen especial cada día.
Mi jornada comenzó bien temprano, como suele ser cuando tenemos trabajo pendiente. Teníamos que dirigirnos al Centro Comercial Parque Costa Azul para realizar un servicio que había quedado en espera el día anterior, y luego debíamos buscar una junta de amianto para corregir un sonido molesto en el múltiple de la camioneta de trabajo. Así que, sin perder tiempo, nos alistamos y salimos con buen ánimo.
El clima amaneció excelente, de esos días en los que el cielo parece más amplio y los colores más vivos. Ese tipo de luz que hace que tanto los paisajes urbanos como los naturales se vean radiantes y hermosos.
Aproveché para capturar algunos instantes con mi teléfono, porque siempre pienso en ustedes y en lo bonito que es compartir lo que vemos en nuestros recorridos.
Between enjoying the scenery and a pleasant conversation with my husband, we arrived at Costa Azul Park, where the maintenance department welcomed us with their usual kindness. We hadn’t been able to perform the service the day before because they were filling the tanks with water, so today was the day to finish the job. After completing our routine chlorination and disinfection, we stayed to monitor the readings until we were sure everything was within the correct ranges. We didn’t leave until we confirmed that every parameter was as it should be.
Entre paisajes y una agradable conversación con mi esposo, llegamos al Parque Costa Azul, donde el departamento de mantenimiento nos recibió con la amabilidad de siempre. El día anterior no habíamos podido realizar el servicio porque estaban surtiendo agua en los tanques, así que hoy tocaba completar la labor. Después de hacer nuestra rutina de clorado y desinfección, nos quedamos midiendo los valores hasta asegurarnos de que todo estuviera en los rangos correctos. No nos retiramos hasta confirmar que cada parámetro estuviera como debía ser.
To wrap things up, we took a quick tour of the mall’s food court. It was decorated in a very unique way; all the decorations were made of balloons, forming truly beautiful shapes and details that gave the place a festive atmosphere. Since it was almost lunchtime, we decided to grab a snack at the bakery. They serve a mini-lunch of ham and cheese there that’s absolutely delicious, and we washed it down with an ice-cold malt that hit the spot perfectly.
Al concluir, dimos un pequeño recorrido por el área de comida del centro comercial. Estaba decorada de una manera muy singular; todos los adornos eran de globos, formando figuras y detalles realmente hermosos que le daban un aire festivo al lugar. Como ya estaba cerca la hora del almuerzo, decidimos merendar en la panadería. Allí preparan un minilunch de jamón y queso amarillo que es una delicia, y lo acompañamos con una malta bien fría que nos cayó de maravilla.
With our stomachs full, we continued our journey into town to look for the asbestos gasket. We were heading specifically to Ferremundo Mangueras, where they could either custom-make the gasket for us or sell us a piece of asbestos so we could make it ourselves. My husband preferred to buy the material and do the work at our own pace at home.
Con el estómago contento, continuamos nuestro viaje hacia la ciudad para buscar la junta de amianto. Íbamos específicamente a Ferremundo Mangueras, donde podían hacer la junta a la medida o vendernos el pedazo de amianto para elaborarla nosotros mismos. Mi esposo prefirió comprar el material y hacer el trabajo con calma en casa.
As we were leaving the shop, we ran into our friend Rober, who is a blacksmith. His truck was damaged, and he needed to get to a job on time where he had to install an air conditioner. Without a second thought, we loaded his tools into our truck and drove him to his destination. After dropping him off, we headed home, satisfied that we had completed all our tasks for the day.
Al salir del local, nos encontramos con nuestro amigo Rober, que es herrero. Tenía su camioneta dañada y debía llegar a tiempo a un trabajo donde tenía que instalar un aire acondicionado. Sin pensarlo dos veces, cargamos sus herramientas en nuestra camioneta y lo llevamos hasta su destino. Después de dejarlo, emprendimos el regreso a casa con la satisfacción de haber cumplido todas las tareas del día.
