[ENG/ESP] A Wednesday spent in the company of nature's nobility
Happy Wednesday, everyone. Today I want to start by wishing you all a wonderful day, full of truly positive moments—the kind that come without warning but brighten your entire day. Every week I stop by here to share a little piece of my days and take part in this beautiful initiative that I enjoy so much. Even though sometimes I’m short on time or feeling tired, I always find a moment to be with you all, because it truly fulfills me and connects me with people who also love landscapes, journeys, and little everyday stories.
To those who haven’t yet decided to join this wonderful initiative by @tattoodjay, I’d like to warmly encourage you not to miss out. It’s a precious opportunity to enjoy marvelous places, discover corners of the world through the eyes of others, and, above all, be inspired by that beautiful energy that arises when we share what we see and experience.
Like every day—and this comes as no surprise to those who follow my blog—I left home very early to work alongside my life partner (my husband). Starting the day together always gives it a different rhythm—one that’s more manageable and more enjoyable. The weather this morning was a bit cloudy but cooler than usual, which is a relief here on Margarita Island, where the heat is usually intense and constant.
Feliz miércoles para todos. Hoy quiero comenzar deseándoles un día genial, lleno de momentos muy positivos, de esos que llegan sin avisar pero que iluminan la jornada completa. Cada semana paso por aquí para compartir un pedacito de mis días y participar en esta bella iniciativa que tanto disfruto. Aunque a veces el tiempo sea corto o el cansancio quiera hacerse notar, siempre encuentro un espacio para estar con ustedes, porque realmente me llena y me conecta con personas que también aman los paisajes, los recorridos y las pequeñas historias cotidianas.
A quienes aún no se han animado a unirse a esta hermosa propuesta de @tattoodjay, les digo con cariño que no se la pierdan. Es una oportunidad preciosa para disfrutar de lugares maravillosos, conocer rincones del mundo a través de los ojos de otros y, sobre todo, contagiarse de esa energía bonita que surge cuando compartimos lo que vemos y vivimos.
Como cada día —y esto ya no es sorpresa para quienes siguen mi blog— salí bien temprano de casa para trabajar junto a mi compañero de vida, (mi esposo). Empezar la jornada juntos siempre hace que el día tenga otro ritmo, más llevadero, más ameno. El clima hoy amaneció con algunas nubes, pero más fresco de lo habitual, lo cual es un alivio aquí en Isla Margarita, donde el calor suele ser intenso y constante.
Since last week, we’ve been working on the desalination plant at the Sunsol Ecoland hotel, while also handling other tasks. So today was no exception. It was time to continue working on the other set of filters—a job that requires constant analysis, testing, measurements, and a great deal of attention. It’s the kind of work that completely absorbs you, so much so that time flies by without you even noticing. When we finally looked up, it was already time to pack up and leave.
Desde la semana pasada estamos trabajando en la planta desalinizadora del hotel Sunsol Ecoland, combinándola con otros trabajos. Así que hoy no fue la excepción. Tocaba continuar con la otra batería de filtros, un trabajo que exige análisis constante, pruebas, mediciones y mucha atención. Es un tipo de labor que absorbe por completo, tanto que el tiempo pasa sin que uno lo note. Cuando finalmente levantamos la mirada, ya era hora de recoger y marcharnos.
But if there’s one thing that makes that daily back-and-forth a little easier, it’s the scenery that accompanies us along the way. Between urban areas and natural spots, the journey becomes a respite for the eyes and the spirit. I always say it and I’ll say it again: I love nature. I’m in awe of its nobility, its ability to reveal its beauty under any circumstances. When it rains, it shines with a special intensity; when there’s a drought, even if it loses a bit of color, it still possesses a serene beauty that invites you to contemplate it.
The lagoon called La Playa is a perfect example. This year’s drought was relentless, and it hasn’t managed to recover its water level, but even so, its hills are radiant with greenery thanks to recent rains. It’s impossible to pass by without pausing to look, even if just for a moment. It’s as if nature were reminding us that it always finds a way to be reborn.
Pero si hay algo que hace más ligero ese ir y venir diario son los paisajes que nos acompañan en el recorrido. Entre zonas urbanas y rincones naturales, el camino se vuelve un descanso para la vista y para el ánimo. Siempre lo digo y lo repito; adoro la naturaleza. Me maravilla su nobleza, su capacidad de mostrarse hermosa en cualquier circunstancia. Cuando llueve, brilla con una intensidad especial; cuando hay sequía, aunque pierda un poco de color, sigue teniendo una belleza serena que invita a contemplarla.
La laguna llamada La Playa es un ejemplo perfecto. Este año la sequía fue implacable y no ha logrado recuperar su nivel de agua, pero aun así, sus cerros lucen un verdor radiante gracias a las lluvias recientes. Es imposible pasar por allí sin detener la mirada, aunque sea por un instante. Es como si la naturaleza nos recordara que siempre encuentra la manera de renacer.
Among those landscapes that soothe our weariness and the quiet conversations that arise along the way, we continue on our journey home. Every stretch of the journey has something special—a detail that changes with the light of day, the weather, or simply the mood with which one views it. And that’s what I like to share with you: those little moments that give everyday life its own charm.
Entre esos paisajes que alivian el cansancio y las conversaciones tranquilas que surgen en el camino, seguimos avanzando hacia casa. Cada tramo del recorrido tiene algo especial, un detalle que cambia con la luz del día, con el clima o simplemente con el ánimo con el que uno lo mira. Y eso es lo que me gusta compartir con ustedes; esos pequeños momentos que hacen que la rutina tenga un encanto propio.
