[ENG/ESP] A Wednesday filled with technical work, scenic views, and a satisfying conclusion
Just like every Wednesday, I’m here with you, my wonderful #wednesdaywalk community. Posting in this community has become a weekly routine that I truly enjoy, thanks to @tattoodjay’s initiative, who always encourages us to share our walks and enjoy others’ as well. It’s a space that feels like an open window onto everyone’s paths, landscapes, and experiences, and I love being a part of it.
My day started very early, as it usually does, because work and responsibilities don’t wait. After two completely cloudy days, today the sun came out stronger than before, but curiously it didn’t feel stifling like it has on other occasions. Rather, it was a gentle sun, the kind that illuminates without being harsh, allowing for a relaxed journey filled with colors and nuances in the natural landscapes unfolding before us. Everything seemed more alive, more brilliant, as if the island had used those gray days to take a breather and today decided to show itself renewed.
Como cada miércoles estoy aquí con ustedes, hermosa comunidad de #wednesdaywalk. Publicar en esta comunidad ya se ha convertido en una rutina semanal que disfruto muchísimo, gracias a la iniciativa de @tattoodjay, que siempre nos motiva a mostrar nuestros recorridos y a disfrutar los de otros. Es un espacio que se siente como una ventana abierta a los caminos, paisajes y vivencias de cada uno, y me encanta formar parte de él.
Mi día comenzó muy temprano, como casi siempre, porque el trabajo y las obligaciones no esperan. Después de dos días completamente nublados, hoy salió un sol más bravo que antes, pero curiosamente no se sentía sofocante como en otras ocasiones. Más bien era un sol amable, de esos que iluminan sin castigar, y que permiten hacer un recorrido relajado, lleno de colores y matices en los paisajes naturales que se despliegan a nuestro paso. Todo parecía más vivo, más brillante, como si la isla hubiera aprovechado esos días grises para tomar un respiro y hoy decidiera mostrarse renovada.
Our first stop of the day was at the Sunsol Unik hotel, where we had to carry out our disinfection and chlorination routine. Everything went very smoothly; the parameters came back perfect, and that’s always a relief because it means the process is working as it should. In addition, the water they’re receiving in the tanks is of very good quality, and that helps a lot with the entire treatment process. Before we left, I submitted the pending report on the trench filter, which remains out of service because the replacement part hasn’t arrived yet. We hope they’ll be able to get it back up and running soon so everything can return to normal operation.
Nuestra primera parada del día fue en el hotel Sunsol Unik, donde teníamos que realizar nuestra rutina de desinfección y clorado. Todo fluyó muy bien, los parámetros dieron perfectos y eso siempre es un alivio, porque significa que el proceso está funcionando como debe. Además, el agua que están recibiendo en los tanques es de muy buena calidad, y eso ayuda muchísimo en todo el tratamiento. Antes de irnos entregué el informe pendiente sobre el filtro de trinchera, que continúa fuera de servicio porque el repuesto aún no llega. Esperamos que pronto puedan reactivarlo para que todo vuelva a su funcionamiento normal.
With that task completed, we moved on to the second activity of the day.
Con esa tarea cumplida, nos dirigimos a la segunda actividad del día.
We went to the Sambil Mall, specifically to the Zoom office, where we would finally pick up an order that had been keeping my husband on edge for days. It was the new headlights for our car. He was anxious because for the past four days we’d only had low beams. It all started one afternoon when my father came home and we realized his car didn’t have high beams for driving at night. Without thinking twice, my husband took ours off and installed them on his car, because it was very dangerous for him to drive without good visibility. Luckily, we didn’t have to go out at night during those days, but it was still a constant worry.
Fuimos al Centro Comercial Sambil, específicamente a la oficina de Zoom, donde por fin recibiríamos un encargo que tenía a mi esposo inquieto desde hacía días. Se trataba de las luces nuevas para nuestro auto. Él estaba ansioso porque desde hace cuatro días solo teníamos luces cortas. Todo comenzó una tarde cuando mi padre llegó a casa y nos dimos cuenta de que su carro no tenía luces largas para manejar de noche. Mi esposo, sin pensarlo dos veces, le quitó las nuestras y se las instaló a él, porque era muy peligroso que condujera sin buena visibilidad. Por suerte, en esos días no tuvimos que salir de noche, pero igual era una preocupación constante.
When we finally had the package in our hands, he didn’t want to wait or even get home to open it. He asked me to open it right there and show him the lights. I know him well; when it comes to the car, he wants to have everything under control. And I understand that. It’s better for everything to work properly—that way, you avoid accidents and drive with greater peace of mind.
After that, we headed back home, enjoying the scenery along the way, which always offers something beautiful to look at. We arrived with the satisfaction of a job well done and with the long-awaited package finally in our hands.
Cuando por fin tuvimos el paquete en las manos, él no quiso esperar ni llegar a casa para abrirlo. Me pidió que lo hiciera allí mismo y que le mostrara las luces. Ya lo conozco; cuando se trata del auto, quiere tener todo bajo control. Y lo entiendo. Es mejor que todo funcione correctamente, así se evitan accidentes y uno maneja con más tranquilidad.
Después de eso emprendimos el regreso a casa, disfrutando del paisaje del camino, que siempre nos regala algo bonito para mirar. Llegamos con la satisfacción del deber cumplido y con la encomienda tan esperada finalmente en nuestras manos.
