Going through the same places again and again does not take away their interest or charm. On the contrary, I very much enjoy walking through familiar places and once more contemplating the buildings immovable in time, which remain always the same reminding us of past eras, times perhaps better than others, but that without doubt marked important moments both historical and social. For me it is a constant reunion with the history of the city.

This area of Old Havana is a place I have passed through many times, and not only me, since it is one of the most transited and visited areas of the capital. Through here walk daily the neighbors of this municipality together with visitors from all parts of the world, who arrive attracted by the wonders of Cuba. In this environment rises the Capitol of Havana, one of the most imposing architectural jewels of the country, restored a few years ago to return to it the splendor of its beginnings. Its majesty and beauty make it an indisputable symbol of Havana.

From Central Park we can already see its great golden dome shining under the sun, which rises as an icon of the place. This park surrounded by busts and centenary trees is a meeting point where history, culture and generations mix.

In this area it is usual to see tourists with their cameras trying to capture in an instant the most emblematic and beautiful of Havana, the classic cars that travel through the avenues, the colonial architecture of other centuries, and above all the daily life of the people that give color and movement to the environment.

Another building of great interest in the surroundings is the Museum of Universal Art, which keeps inside collections that connect Cuba with the world. Its halls allow traveling through different eras and artistic styles, and its façade like many others in the area, is testimony of the architectural richness that characterizes Old Havana.

Around here there is much to see and much to feel, sculptures, old buildings, centenary trees and the culture that is felt in every corner. Walking through Central Park, contemplating the Capitol and stopping in front of the Museum of Universal Art is more than going through spaces, it is coming into contact with the essence of Havana. That is why every time I return I reaffirm that these places do not lose interest, but rather are enriched with the passing of time and with each visitor who lets themselves be caught by the magic of this eternal city.
