A walk to the icecream shop El Palenque [EN/ES]

The Palenque is a large gastronomic center located in the Municipality of Playa, in the Cuban Capital. It is a place well known for its Creole food, for its rustic atmosphere that distinguishes it, and also for its more economical prices. In these times in Cuba, where currently going out to enjoy a good meal is not always accessible for everyone, The Palenque has become an option that many appreciate.
But if there is something that makes it special, it is its ice cream parlor. For me it is the most attractive corner of the whole place. From the very first moment you enter, the site surprises you. It is a space that does not resemble any other that I have visited, all the design is thought to remind us of a tasty ice cream even before seeing the offers.
The seats for example, have the shape of wafers and the decoration imitates colored ice cream balls, as if they were whipped cream. The place is full of pastel tones, soft and cheerful, which are illuminated even more by the light that enters through the glass, which makes everything look fresh, bright, and cozy.
The walls are adorned with drawings of ice creams and desserts, mixing vivid colors with pastels, which creates a fun and warm atmosphere. On one side there are more conventional red tables and chairs, designed for those who prefer something simple and more intimate, without so much fantasy.
This is an ideal place to enjoy with family, with friends, or even alone, because a delicious creamy ice cream is always appealing no matter the age. That sweet flavor accompanies us since childhood and we never stop wanting it, I believe that is a taste that remains for life.
The ice cream shop also has the advantage of being a quiet place. It is perfect to sit and enjoy, relax and let oneself go while we calmly savor an ice cream. The day I went there were few people which I found even better, since the service was fast and I was able to choose calmly among the different varieties of flavors.
This simple ice cream shop is a space designed to enjoy without complications. Here the ice cream is the protagonist, and the atmosphere makes us want to stay a little longer, to share, to laugh, or simply to let time pass while enjoying something so simple and so special as a good ice cream.

El Palenque es un amplio centro gastronómico ubicado en el Municipio de Playa, en la Capital cubana. Es un lugar muy conocido por su comida criolla, por su ambiente campestre que lo distingue, y también por sus precios más económicos. En estos tiempos en Cuba, donde actualmente salir a disfrutar de una buena comida no siempre es accesible para todos, El Palenque se ha convertido en una opción que muchos agradecen.
Pero si hay algo que lo hace especial, es su heladería. Para mí es el rincón más atractivo de todo el lugar. Desde el primer momento en que entras, el sitio te sorprende. Es un espacio que no se parece a ningún otro que yo haya visitado, todo el diseño está pensado en recordarnos un sabroso helado incluso antes de ver las ofertas.
Los asientos por ejemplo, tienen forma de barquillos y la decoración imita bolas de helado de colores, como si fueran crema batida. El lugar está lleno de tonos pasteles, suaves y alegres, que se iluminan aún más con la luz que entra por los cristales, lo que hace que todo se vea fresco, luminoso y acogedor.
Las paredes están adornadas con dibujos de helados y postres, mezclando colores vivos con pasteles, que crea un ambiente divertido y cálido. A un lado hay mesas y sillas rojas más convencionales, pensadas para quienes prefieren algo sencillo y más íntimo, sin tanta fantasía.
Este es un sitio ideal para disfrutar en familia, con amigos, o incluso solos, porque un delicioso helado cremoso siempre apetece sin importar la edad. Ese sabor dulce nos acompaña desde niños y nunca dejamos de quererlo, creo que ese es un gusto que se mantiene en de por vida.
La heladería además tiene la ventaja de ser un lugar tranquilo. Es perfecta para sentarse a disfrutar, relajarse y dejarse llevar mientras saboreamos con calma un helado. El día que fui había pocas personas lo cual me pareció aún mejor, ya que el servicio fue rápido y pude escoger con tranquilidad entre las diferentes variedades de sabores.
Esta sencilla heladería es un espacio pensado para disfrutar sin complicaciones. Aquí el helado es el protagonista, y el ambiente nos hace querer quedarnos un rato más, a compartir, a reír, o simplemente a dejar que el tiempo pase mientras se disfruta de algo tan sencillo y tan especial como un buen helado.

Me pregunto porque estos proyectos no pueden cobrar vida en Pinar del Río, ni hablarte de nuestra heladería coppelia, que pasó de ser el lugar preferido de la multitud a pasar desapercibido, es algo deja añoranza, pero m e alegro que puedan disfrutar de esta estos lugares, me acuerdo cuando fuimos al hivecubacon que pasamos por una heladería que parecía aquello un paraíso de sabores, algo que me gustaría repetir en cualquier momento, saludos.

I love the design of the ice cream parlor. It looks quite realistic and enticing at the same time. In our country, palengke (maybe palengque in your dialect) means a public market. It’s also more economical to buy there than in malls. However, with online shopping becoming more rampant, it sometimes ends up being cheaper to buy online instead HAHAHAHA.

Se ve bien el Palenque... y está vacío, o sea, no hay cola para entrar. Me gusta así. Estos días fresquitos son los mejores para ir a la heladería. 😄
Entre semana no hay casi cola en la heladeria, para entrar tampoco porque ahora es por reservacion.
