Many of my readers know that one of my greatest passions these days is hiking or simply climbing mountains for a walk and to clear my head. It's an activity I do constantly, and although I've discovered many impressive corners of Ávila, the place I dare to explore, I always set a fixed goal in terms of altitude, time, or distance. But reaching the summit, the true summit where I can appreciate the capital city on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other, is something that doesn't usually happen. In fact, I just returned there this past weekend...

I look at these photos and consider them quite unique. Most of them were taken at such a high altitude that when I'm up there, it's hard to even take out my phone to take pictures. Up there, I'm always focused on the summit; I even forget Hive exists 😅. And yes, I'm usually very tired too, but only from the effort. It's a tiredness that vanishes for any reason, whether it's the sound of birds or a cool breeze. Speaking of which, we were lucky that it didn't rain, but as we neared the summit, we were enveloped in a pleasant, cool mist, which made the hike even more enjoyable.

The idea of going to Ávila together came to me on a Wednesday. It's 2026 and the three of us hadn't climbed it together, and in fact, I think only I had done any hiking that year. I didn't imagine at that moment that the "yes" would be so resounding, and without realizing it, I found myself drawn in by my fitness buddies, who were really the ones who motivated me to reach the summit. I enjoy it, but the effort is significant, so I take it easy. But the truth is, that day there were no excuses, and that's why I'm always grateful to the guys for motivating me to surpass myself with every experience. It may be a healthy activity, but once we were at the top, we needed a well-deserved hot chocolate to successfully conclude this adventure 🤣

O wow hiking 🤔. That was a beautiful experience, well-done to you. I believe you enjoyed yourself. I've climbed mountains a few times and I must say it wasn't funny 😁, I didn't want to look down 😆.
