Hello Wednesday walkers,
It has been a while ago but I made a nice walk along the coast of Galicia, Costa da Morte. During my trip around the north west area of Spain, I ended up at the coastal town of Malpica A Coruña. A small fishing town along the Costa da Morte. And the camp spot that I found was stunning. Right across the Islas Sisargas.

My van colors perfectly together with the sea and the sky. I love it. I was standing on top of a hill and I wanted to walk towards the sea. That mend a big struggle with my Dutch legs. My muscles were already cramping up by the thought of climbing. I need to do that a lot more. Get a bit more hill climbing muscles.
It was a very nice day for a walk. Not to hot, a nice fresh breeze from the sea and very quiet around here.

Look how steep this is... haha

But eventually I made it down and had a nice view over the sea and the islands.

This was the track along the coast. Perfect for a short hike. It was just carved out by other hikers. No signs or markers, just walk until you find a route up and back.
Along this part of the coast there were a lot of heather plants blooming already. This was the beginning of August, and that's early for those plants to be in bloom. At least for the Netherlands. There heather season is in September when the nights are getting colder.

Lovely rock formations in the sea. That could make nice pictures with some long exposure photography. But I packed light and didn't brought my tripod and filters.

Eventually I ended up at the other side of the hill. There was no sun any more and the wind picked up a little. And because I was walking in the sun the whole time, I was pretty sweaty. That meant I cooled of quickly, something I didn't experienced yet in summertime Spain.
At the other side was a nice view over the town of Malpica a village with about 5000 people living there. So that's pretty big for this region.

On this side of the hill was this little church build. Santuario de Santo Hadrián do Mar. It was build in the 16th century. A very beautiful place to have your Sunday's mass.

This picture shows you nicely how perspective works. Those island looks way bigger in this picture because I am also further away from the church. I uses my 70-200 mm zoom lens to make this picture.

And now came the hardest part of the walk. I needed to go back up again. I was done taking pictures because I was in a hurry. It was around sunset time and the golden colors of the sun became more visible. I was back on time and I could make the best picture of my van here.

I love doing van life. It brings you in the most beautiful places. Have you ever traveled in a van or camper?

I hope that you enjoined my story and my pictures. And thank you for your up vote and comments.

Did you add the pop top to the van or was it already done. It looks like a good set up!
This is an original VW California. A factory made camper van. I love it. Its so handy and complete.
I just had a look a few reviews on the VW California out here. There is only a hand full for sale in Australia all over 100k Aud. I did not realise there not that old. The pop top and swivel front seat look very handy.

Beautiful landscape ♥️👏
Its realy is beautiful here. 🥰
That coastline sounds wild in the best way. Malpica and the Costa da Morte have this raw, untamed beauty that makes every step feel earned, especially on those tougher stretches of the hike. Pairing that with van life and quieter, lesser-known paths gives the whole experience a real sense of freedom and calm. :)
Its a beautiful coast line. If you are around, take a trip over there.
For sure!
