Entering the city from the west side [ENG/ESP]

Greetings to our dear friends in the @wednesdaywalk community, who help transport us to different places around the world. I hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday walk.

Today I’m sharing a route I took from the western part of the city of Barquisimeto, an area known as Pavia that’s a bit far from downtown.

The route starts on the road from Bobare to Barquisimeto, where you can see in the distance the arch marking the National Guard checkpoint that welcomes you to the final stretch to Pavia.

In this area, there are people who raise goats as an economic activity that helps them earn their daily livelihood. For this reason, there are several restaurants along the road that specialize in goat and sheep dishes, which are representative of the livestock in the area.

There is also an area next to the gas station where trucks loaded with melons from the municipality of Urdaneta park to sell them directly to consumers at prices lower than those found in any store in the city. By the time we passed by, the trucks had already left.

The western part isn’t very striking because it lacks urban developments or attractive office or residential buildings. On the contrary, it is a residential area, but one consisting of public housing, and a significant portion is also occupied by industrial developments and commercial warehouses.

When walking along the main street, you can see many people on foot, on motorcycles, or on bicycles doing their shopping at the businesses located along the perimeter. There you can find bakeries, grocery stores, schools, and food vendors of all kinds. It is a very hot area, and at that moment the sun was shining brightly with plenty of clouds in the sky.

After passing Pavia, you reach Las Industrias Avenue, so named because of the industrial warehouses dedicated to the manufacture and sale of consumer goods, such as EPA, a massive hardware store where you can buy in bulk or retail.

Continuing along the avenue, you arrive at the Obelisco roundabout, where there is an overpass to streamline traffic in the area. In another post, I’ll show you the rest of this route to Barquisimeto.

I've only visited this city a few times, but enough to recognize most of these places. What a beautiful walk you've taken! I hope you'll share the next part soon! ✌️

This is the part of the city you come across when you arrive from the west—from places like Churuguara or Coro—all the way to the roundabout by the obelisk. I’ll continue with the rest of the journey soon. Thanks @jesuslnrs for your feedback
