Greetings, fellow travelers of the @worldmappin community! I hope you’re enjoying a well-deserved break this weekend.

I’m here to take you on a tour of a lovely little spot very close to the city of Barquisimeto called “El Manzano,” which I visited again this weekend for a church retreat.

To get from Cabudare, where I live, to this location, we must take Avenida Hermano Nectario, better known in the city as “Avenida Ribereña.” We then arrive at the “Río Turbio” interchange and continue toward the Macuto Bridge, which crosses the Río Turbio.

From the bridge, we begin to climb the hill along the road. We pass several important buildings, such as the Divina Pastora Seminary and Casa China, until we reach the left turn that leads to Manzano.

From this point begins what we know as the Manzano Abajo sector. It is characterized by being a very cool place, with abundant vegetation, mainly fruit trees such as mango and avocado. We also find very leafy ceiba trees.

Along the road, you can see beautiful homes with wide facades and very colorful walls, electric gates, and many flowering shrubs.

I really like this area because of its pleasant climate and beautiful scenery, although on this occasion the sun was quite strong, making it quite hot.

We finally arrived at our destination: the convent of the Sisters of the Congregation of Perpetual Help, also known as the “Socorristas.”

They have a lovely place filled with fruit and ornamental trees, from the moment we passed through the entrance gate all the way to the back of the property. It is also used as a retreat house for church workshops. It features a charming churuata, or hut, where meetings are held.

All around, you can see mango trees, ceiba trees, and trinitaria flowers blooming everywhere, making the site a very welcoming place that invites rest and reflection.

En contacto con la naturaleza en la parte sur este de la ciudad

Saludos amigos viajeros de esta comunidad @worldmappin, espero que estén disfrutando de un merecido descanso en este fin de semana.

Estoy aquí con ustedes para llevarlos a un paseo por un rinconcito muy agradable y muy cercano a la ciudad de Barquisimeto llamado "el manzano", que visité nuevamente este fin de semana para vivir un retiro de la iglesia.

Para trasladarse desde Cabudare, que es donde resido, hasta este sitio debemos tomar la avenida hermano Nectario, mejor conocida en la ciudad como "avenida Ribereña". Luego llegamos al distribuidor "Río turbio" y allí seguimos hacia el puente Macuto que permite el paso sobre el río turbio.

A partir del puente, comenzamos a subir la cuesta a través de la carretera. Pasamos por varias edificaciones importantes como el seminario divina pastora y la casa China hasta llegar al cruce hacia la izquierda que conduce al manzano.

Desde este punto comienza lo que conocemos como el sector manzano abajo. Se caracteriza por ser un lugar muy fresco, con vegetación abundante, principalmente de árboles frutales como mango y aguacate. También encontramos árboles de ceiba muy frondosos.

Por la vía se aprecian bonitas viviendas con amplias fachadas y paredes muy coloridas, portones eléctricos y muchos arbustos floridos.

Me gusta mucho este sector por su agradable clima y bonitos paisajes, aunque en esta oportunidad los rayos solares estaban bastante fuertes lo que generaba un calor considerable.

Finalmente llegamos a nuestro destino: el convento de las hermanas de la congregación del perpetuo Socorro, también conocidas como "socorristas".

Ellas tienen un bonito lugar lleno de árboles frutales y ornamentales desde que atravesamos el portón de la entrada hasta el fondo de la parcela. Es utilizado también como casa de retiro para los talleres de la iglesia. Posee una bonita churuata o choza donde se hacen las reuniones.

A su alrededor se pueden observar árboles de mango, ceibas y trinitarias floridas por todas partes que que hacen del sitio un lugar muy acogedor que invita al descanso y la reflexión.
