Walking isn’t just good for the body and mind, helping us recharge our batteries or clear our heads of whatever’s on our minds; simply by focusing on what we see, we can find joy and delight in the sights around us, as both big and small things can be equally beautiful and bring a smile to our faces. Walks foster a joyful spirit.

Whenever I walk through a new neighbourhood or one I’ve visited before, I discover new things I hadn’t seen before, not because I miss the details, but perhaps because I was looking in one direction. I think the other direction is left for another time; I prefer to see it that way. That part of the landscape is waiting for me further on for some reason.
It seems as though the parks within the city are multiplying because I always come across one; of course, I have my favourites, but it’s true that each one has its own style depending on the neighbourhood it’s in. I really like the fact that every neighbourhood has its own large green space, both for children to play in and for walking pets, but also to spend a pleasant moment in nature, even if it’s within the city.

Often, as on this occasion, I come across spectacular designs in the rest areas, where there is shade and benches, and I really do think they’ve done a brilliant job, drawing on their imagination, to create these fantastic structures, which look like something out of a fairy tale, a cartoon or a children’s film.
The whole area was surrounded by winding paths, but there was also plenty of green space, bushes, plants, vegetation and lots of trees. Ideal for creating an atmosphere of rest, relaxation and even for having a picnic.

Every now and then the clouds would gather a little, but the sun would always peek through them, and with it the colours became more intense; everything was full of life, and even the flowers, which are so beautiful now, shone much brighter and their colours were more striking.

The paths resembled the roads that wind through and around the mountains, and likewise the green areas were situated on higher hills. As I climbed up there, the view was even more beautiful.

I could see an old water fountain that was now surrounded by leafy bushes.

And in the distance, a place to eat and have a drink.

And, looking out from the hilltop, a lovely playground, but I noticed something I hadn’t realised before.

I made my way towards that spot amongst the hills, palm trees and lush greenery. The clouds had obscured the sun, but there was a bright white glow illuminating everything, even amongst the trees.
Whilst in the playground the children played in a beautiful medieval castle with a distinctive style, something was happening very close by.

In that world, the tortoises were enormous.

Huge snails rested on the rocks.

And a very green, large frog watched, as if petrified. I think they were all looking after the children and were their friends, but they loved it when the children climbed onto their backs and explored the park. The children were very happy. A world of wonders.

It was the children’s world, but my inner child could see all of that and it was wonderful. Then I continued on my way, which led me to see more beautiful flowers.

I stopped for a moment, sat on a bench in the shade and admired it all, the simplicity of a stroll, yet the wonder of the fantasy that can amaze us right there and then.
Thank you very much for joining me on this Wednesday walk; I send you my warmest regards. See you soon.

The whole place looks deserted. What's happened? Where are the people?
I go there really early after lunch, and people start showing up after 5 p.m.... It's perfect for taking pictures when there's no one around!😆
Good morning, dear friend @avdesing.
There's nothing better than a walk to restore our emotions while doing something healthy for our bodies. Being observant allows us to discover new things in places we usually walk through every day; that's the beauty of walking, discovering those spaces we haven't seen and experiencing new emotions.
I love your city; discovering new recreational spaces is wonderful, being close to nature is a very pleasant feeling.
What a lovely walk you've shared with us this time.
Have a great day.
