Checking The Lens-Fifty in Urban Conditions

Yesterday I bought a "portrait lens" - Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8. In the evening, I took some photos of my wife, and I liked them - a sharp, clear lens. Of course, I took the photos in a domestic environment, in the kitchen.They are intended for internal use.

The weather, or rather the morning time, is like a layer cake: the sun is shining one morning. The next morning, dense fog; then the Sun again. But this morning turned out to be foggy. I was driving to work, and the idea came to mind to show the fog through my car DVR. But when I got to the office and looked around, I thought - I'll show the fog in the city. And went for a walk. Yesterday, I had my 50mm lens on the camera. It's small and lightweight, unlike my main lenses. But when I was trying to take the first photo, I realized that this lens is not for street photography; buildings and necessary objects do not fit into the frame.

I can only photograph the road and pedestrian sidewalks. They fit into the frame.

The fog was also not evenly distributed. The idea to show the fog in the city came to me when I was driving near the Main City Square. There was a thick fog, and the houses looked very interesting. But I didn't go there because I didn't have the right lens needed for such conditions. I will seize the moment again.

There was no fog in such places, with trees hanging over the path. You can already see fog at the intersection.

I went back to the car to put the camera there.
Yesterday, my eldest son asked me, - Do you always carry a camera with you?
I told him I always drive it in the car.

During my lunch break, I went to Gagarin Park. I was there last week with a large-format lens and photographed the morning fog.
It turned out that there were a lot of people there during the day. They were mostly young people, students of a local university and college. They had sports classes there, and they ran around the park.
But there were also grandmothers and young mothers with children.

I wanted to see a squirrel, but it was impossible with such a crowd of people.

Old, wrinkled, black mushrooms. They lived their lives and died peacefully. They were growing right next to the footpath, but no one kicked them! How lazy people have become.

And I saw another family. How densely they grow. They look like the battle formation of the ancient Romans, the turtle...

What is my conclusion. Yes, this lens is great for portraits. In the evening, I also took a photo of my wife while she was engrossed in reading a book.
But it is not suitable for landscape or street photography. For this, I will use my large heavy Sigma F/1.8 18-35mm lens and, of course, an 11mm wide-angle lens. I am preparing for a trip to Belarus. What's waiting for me there? You need to be prepared for everything.
