ɪɴ ᴀ ᴄʜᴀᴏᴛɪᴄ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ.
I have never experienced war before but have seen what a chaotic world looks like and the consequences that comes with war. It is one thing for a country to be at war with another, but in a case when the world is at war, a safe places becomes a fantasy. The reality of war has never been pleasurable, it is an event that destroys anything in its path.
When citizens experience hardship, we believe gutting each other's throat is a way of solving the situation. When countries chose war over diplomacy, the world turns to hell of its own making. The government fighting each other is not the worst part of war, it is the lack of law enforcement and those who take advantage of the chaos.
I keep saying it, humans remain one of the greatest disaster that ever befell the planet. In a time of distress, you will understand why we are categorized as higher "animals". The animal in us emerges and becomes more vicious, people would gladly tear their fellow human apart, for the most insignificant desire. The chaos seems to set a platform, for some humans to display their true form.
If the world were to go to war, what we be the first thing I would do as a citizen? When war engulfs the earth, safety becomes the only priority of every human. My duty to my loved ones will always come first before my duty to my country. Sadly, every bit of patriotism in me, is long gone. Like I said earlier, there are a lot of things that occur during war, it is never about a country vs another but humans vs humans.
My priority will be to protect my family from any living creature willing to do my family harm. I have seen how people react in times of chaos, robbing, raping and killing each other. I'm more concerned about protecting my family from internal civil crisis that occurs within a country during the time of war, than the actual war itself.
The big challenge is that, where is safe during world war? Different countries taking turns lunching missiles at each other, anywhere could be set ablaze at any point in time. I guess it is all about moving away from populated areas and anywhere that might seem like a place of interest to other countries. While doing that, I have to also be on my guard, watching each step of mine, so that I won't lead my family into the traps of bandits.
If war were to breakout across the world, it becomes a play time for bandit whose aim has always been to cause more harm to the country. There will be no one to trust but ourselves, securing a safe spot, protecting each other and securing supplies will definitely be my priority but above it all, I will keep praying this never becomes my reality. Talking about war, is far different from experiencing it.
