Looking up from a cave on the Isle des Pines in New Caledonia

what a strange world that we live in when you can find yourself in a huge cave largely by yourself on a close to deserted island in the south pacific.

I is hard to explain the scale of this place, this is are the very 'back' of the cave maybe 80m or 90m back from the front, unless of course you came in from this entrance, if you consider this an entrance and not a hole in the ground, although perhaps you could lower yourself on the roots of the tree

Or maybe this is is more your scene, a tiny crack to squeeze yourself through like they do in the movies, and then slide downing the vines hanging down like a latter day Lara Croft

Either way it was a fairly unforgettable day in a cave on the Isle des pines.
