Those sardines look very nicely designed as far as the packaging is concerned. I wouldn't want to throw away the tin with the nice art. The price seems steep, but I guess it's more of a novelty item.

If you washed the can well you could maybe keep it but the lid would be curled. If you bought the boxed package then you could just keep the box. They were quite expensive though.
Their art design works well on me because I immediately wanted to have one. 😄
